YOTEL Boston garners acclaim for its attentive service and spotless, well-maintained premises, offering travelers a modern stay accentuated by mood lighting and smart beds. While the compact yet tidy rooms receive positive remarks, guests have called out the lack of in-room amenities such as coffee makers and refrigerators.
Nestled in the Seaport district, its location is a hit for its easy access to local attractions. Opinions on value are mixed, with visitors praising the affordable rates but cautioning about hidden fees and costly parking.

Detailed Reviews
It was our first time staying at a Yotel and we are really glad we did! The rooms are very quirky with different coloured mood lighting and adjustable bed. The rooms were cleaned daily to a very high standard with plenty of free toiletries.
Really nice location in the Seaport district with lovely views and only a 10 min walk to the nearest Subway station over the bridge. We were a little disappointed that the rooftop bar was closed but presumably this was due to the time of year that we visited. We would definitely stay here again on our next trip!

I had 3 days of meetings in two different office buildings in the Seaport area. This hotel is easy to find and within a 15-minute walk from South Station, the Children's Museum, Fan Pier, and many local entertainment venues and restaurants. I stayed in a Queen room with bunk, thinking I could use the bunk for storage, but the rails that would keep a sleeper safe made it impossible to just toss my stuff up there. If you don't need it, skip it so you don't bump your head. The bed was really comfy, and the adjustable base was nice for TV and reading. Lighting in the room takes some getting used to, but ultimately was calming. The bathroom is compartmentalized into toilet, shower, and sink, but not really private unless you shut the curtain...even then, you'd hear everything. I was alone this time, and if I return with my husband, I think we'd bump into each other a bit in the room, since it's so small. The hotel offers a $5 dining credit in exchange for skipping housekeeping if you're there for 2+ nights. I usually do anyway, but it was nice to be rewarded. The gym is small, but has high-tech machines that even the laziest of travelers (me!) can figure out. You will need to keep your key on you at all times, because the elevator requires you swipe for safety. Check out was easy at the special kiosk. I did not eat there, but I plan to return for work and/or pleasure so I'm sure I will eventually.

I stayed here with my 11 year old grandson and we both loved it. We came in on Amtrak south station and it was only one subway ride away, and the entrance to that station is directly next to Yotel. So, $2.40 for us to both (he was free) ride to the hotel with our luggage in a safe and convenient way. Ticket agent and Amtrak members helped us to figure out the ticket and way there. We went back the same way. Entered the station entrance next door to Yotel, went down the escalator, bought a ticket from the machine, went around the corner, got on the subway train in like 3 mins to the next station, which was Amtrak South Station.
We walked to the aquarium and to Quincy Market and all around the Seaport area while we were there. Never used Uber or Lyft or anything. It felt very safe, even at night. We never felt threatened in any way. There are several places to eat outside and benches and tables to sit at. This could not be a more convenient place to stay if you are in that area. We had just left the gym on the 2nd floor and were headed back to our room and the robot was outside our door to greet us. He interacted with my grandson and we walked with him to the elevator. My grandson was thrilled! It was so cute.
The room had a bunk on top and he slept up there, loved that. The bed was comfortable and the pillows as well. The bathroom & shower are each separated by a glass wall, and a heavy curtain from the bedroom. The room had a great view towards the water. The check in clerks were very friendly. We went up on the roof, PH, to check out the Deck 12 restaurant. It was pricy but great views and though it's not on the menu, they do have potato chips if you want just a snack. If you run out of anything, CVS is just on the next block around the corner and also has lots of outdoor seating in the back and side. I highly recommend Smoke house BBQ on Congress St., amazing food! And the whale watching cruise, $115 but well worth it.
The only thing we had any kind of problem with was the ice machine, it has only less than a half cup of ice come out, in total, for 2 cups we tried to get lol. It was not a huge deal. They also will store your luggage in a room downstairs if you want to go out before your plane/train leaves or also have a complimentary 12 pm checkout as well. There is a also a secure feature where you have to scan your room card on the elevator in order to get to your room.
Overall, I highly recommend this hotel and I think you will love it!

Spent about a week at the YOTEL Boston and was ready to leave halfway through the trip. These rooms are fine if you only need to spend a night or two and just need a bed, but they definitely are not great for longer stays. The rooms are very crammed and can be difficult to share with another person. If you do share a room with someone, hopefully you are already close to them. There is basically no privacy between the room and bathroom, with only a curtain separating the two. You will definitely hear AND smell everything coming from the bathroom.
Somehow, even in the middle of January, the rooms were quite warm, to the point where we were running the air conditioner just to make it a reasonable temperature. We originally opened the window, but since our room faced the brewery next door that had a smoker, we couldn't keep the window open for long before the smokey smell came into the room.
The "work space" is just a tray that comes out over the dresser next to the bed, and not the best to do work on. There are no fridges and microwaves in the rooms, and when my partner asked, we were told it was a "fire hazard". Additionally, there's no free coffee or tea in the morning, so you're better off walking to a Starbucks than paying $4 for a cup of tea. Definitely not a good place to stay for longer visits.
The mood lighting is cool at first, but it's very intense and strained our eyes, so we eventually turned it to just be a normal white color. It is in a great location being next to the Silver Line to/from the airport, with many places to eat along Seaport Blvd. And the popcorn at the bar is also great, I will give it props for that.
Service, value, and cleanliness of the hotel were fine. I just wouldn't stay here for a long stay again unless they make it friendlier for business travelers.

Hi Jcrespo, Thanks for giving our unique YOTEL concept a try! As you’ve discovered, the efficient design of our cabins was inspired by first-class air travel to include everything our visitors need and nothing they don’t, and we’re sorry if any of your travel essentials were absent. While workspace is limited within the cabin, we hope you were able to visit us in Komyuniti to spread out a bit more and work to your hearts’ content. Your added feedback is much appreciated, as we continually strive to elevate the visitor experience, and we appreciate you taking the time to share. We’d love to have you back again for another visit when your travels next bring you to Boston. Cheers, Patricia Berry General Manager

My first room had a bunch of mold on the ceiling right or the entrance when you walked in, hair in the shower, visible stains on the towel rack and floor, coffee stains on the wall near the trash bin. They also brought me a mini fridge which was filthy. I was moved and the room was TINY; significantly smaller than my first room. I used a sanitizing wipe to clean the nightstand before placing my things there and it was DISGUSTING. So much dirt. At that point I was nervous so I ended up going to 3 different CVS locations in the area to grab cleaning supplies because I wanted to checkout and stay elsewhere, but they wouldn’t refund me. They try to wow you with the lights and by using “cool” terminology to refer to basic things, but in all actuality this is just a modern motel and it sucks. Not enough signage on elevators about social distancing practices. There were plenty of guests in the lobby without masks and staff didn’t say anything about it.

Dear Tmonetsantos, Our Boston Crew extends a warm hello and we thank you for allowing our hotel to serve as your home-away-from-home. We understand our cabin sizes are not ideal for every traveler and we apologize if this was at all disappointing. What concerns us most are your comments regarding the attention to detail in preparing your room and we hope you can accept our apologies. As can be seen in many reviews before yours, our Housekeeping colleagues are typically applauded for their efforts and it saddens us to learn that there may have been an isolated moment of inconsistency. We will use this feedback as an opportunity for coaching with our team and we again hope you can accept our apologies. Your added comments are received with equal appreciation and we look forward to winning your heart with a more cherished experience the next time we see you. All the best, Patricia Berry General Manager

My name is Matthew Thomas and I stayed at the Yotel Boston from 3/5 - 3/7. I was very excited to stay at the Yotel while I had my conference at the Seaport. The rooms looked fun, the price was much more affordable than surrounding hotels, and the location was fantastic. I had booked a room with a queen and a twin for myself and two colleagues, but when I checked in I was given a room with only a queen. I went back downstairs to get it fixed, but I was repeatedly told there was nothing they could do because the 3-bed rooms were sold out. My confirmation said I booked the correct room. I stressed to them that I cannot stay in the room with one queen since there is no room for a third person. I was really upset that I was continually told that there was nothing they could do when I had spent $400 already. Eventually, a manager booked us in a handicapped room, so there was enough floor space for me to sleep on.
I tried to not let this bring down the weekend, so the three of us got settled and went to dinner. When we got in the elevator the doors closed, and the elevator suddenly shook and dropped a foot! This happened a few times, and then it lowered us to the first floor but would not let us out. I hit the emergency button, and the call went to voicemail, and the voice mailbox was full. I called the front desk on my phone, and after thirty minutes they opened the doors and we got out without anyone asking "are you okay" or "I'm sorry."
I'm really disappointed with my stay at the Yotel. I wanted to have a great weekend at my conference with my friends, and we had much more stress than we needed.

Hi Matthew, We appreciate you and your friends choosing to stay with us during your conference, and we’re sorry to learn that some parts of your stay didn’t go as we would have hoped. First off, allow us to apologize that your preferred room type wasn’t available upon your arrival. This is not typical of a stay with us and we are looking into this matter to see what may have led to the mix-up. We are also sorry for the elevator incident you cited, and we will be reviewing proper procedures with our crew to ensure that, should anything like this occur in the future, it will be handled in a way that prioritizes the safety and comfort of our visitors. Once again, we are sorry that yours was not reflective of the true YOTEL Boston experience and we are confident we can further impress you if given the opportunity. Sincerely, Patricia Berry General Manager

We traveled to Boston for a family wedding and this was the cheapest of the 2 hotels offered by the wedding party. Personally, I have never stayed at a trendy hotel as I’m really not all about that. I also have never viewed the square footage of a room prior to my stay. From my travels in the US, hotels are fairly similar. While I should have known that wide angle views are always used for living quarters, I never realized how much they expand the area until I entered our 162sq.ft room (the other option which was slightly more expensive was 352sq.ft.
Bear in mind, we were there for 4 days both leisure and black tie. There are no closets, just 2 small hanging areas. There are 2 drawers about 12in x 12in x 4in, and no storage for suitcases.
When the bed is flat, there is about 14in between it and the TV on the wall. One side of the bed has no night stand. It is practically against the wall. There is a curtain to separate the entire bathroom area from the bed area. You can slide some stuff under the bed. There is one folding wooden banquet chair in a slot beside the one night stand.
The shower is large and a towel warmer is included in glass room where the toilet is. There is no exhaust fan in the bathroom.
However!!! There are many USB plugs, mood lighting around the TV in every color of the rainbow, nice large bottles of soap, shampoo, lotion, etc., a laptop safe in a drawer, mini divots for your phone to lay in and most importantly a bottle opener on the wall beside the TV and a robot to bring you towels if needed.
There was a party in the room beside us for which we could hear the talking, laughing and music into the wee hours of the morning.
They do collect a $100/night deposit for any damages plus $55/night valet. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is just not a hotel for the practical, but it is clean and conveniently located with very friendly staff.

Loved this place. Cabins are small, but I knew that going into it. Stayed with my daughter and she slept in the bunk above me. Rain shower is awesome. Place was clean neat and up to speed tech wise. People should know it's not your standard size. No sitting area in the room. Every inch is maximized. The prices are great, the only problem is the $30 plus dollars of taxes Boston whacks you with so be prepared to add that onto the cost. That was for one night only so it will be more the longer you stay, but that is every hotel there. The valet parking is great for $55 and you have until 3pm the next day. They have a luggage room so if you're staying past your checkout time, just check it into the room and you can grab it at 3 when you come back for your car. I really loved it and will come back. I haven't been to the seaport area in over 5 years. They have built it up and there's quite a bit to do.

My daughter and I stayed at the Yotel Boston for a three day volleyball tournament being held at the convention center. The room was super modern and efficient, the beds were comfortable, and I did not hear any hallway, street noise, or adjacent room noise at all. The beds were comfortable in the room had just enough space for the two of us. The location is absolutely perfect, it’s right near multiple restaurants, a CVS, are Trader Joe’s, and only about a 15 minute walk to the convention center. If you don’t want to walk, it’s about a seven dollar a Lyft ride. The price was amazing for the value. The whole Yotel mission control team was friendly and helpful. Can’t recommend the Yotel enough!!

The hotel itself was very modern and a great value but the staff was very unhelpful in all aspects of our stay. Had to track down hostess and parking valet when we arrived. There was no soap or face clothes in our room and when asked about it we were told we would get some and it never came. Waited nearly 40 minutes for our car to get returned from the valet at check out.

Hi,
We only offer breakfast a la carte, unfortunately I can't add any links or website through this platform. Our restaurant is Vela Seaport. Once you are in our website click on "Book a table", you will be able to see our breakfast menu and pricing. I hope this helps.
Best,
Luis
All the hotels I have stayed at never include toothpaste or disposable shaver, including Yotel. But they all have shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc
Yes, they are provided. Pretty good unless you have a specific need as they are the generic hotel type.
No there is not a shuttle however, you can take the Silver Line (MBTA Subway) from the airport, the Courthouse stop is right next to the property and use the Silver line to go back to the airport as well.
