Spent two nights here with a girlfriend. This was a cozy fun place to stay. Getting into the city was easy, and we enjoyed fabulous views of the Boston skyline. Being lulled to sleep by the sounds of the water was unique. I would certainly recommend it to my friends... and certainly hope to return myself some day. Breakfast was...

There are times when you begin a great adventure with high hopes and expectations only to have disappointment. THIS IS NOT THE CASE! The care and thoughtfulness that our hosts Jon and Karen put into the smallest deeds to make sure of a wonderful and magical experience was overwhelming. We would definitely come back!

We are on 6 week driving holiday from Australia and my daughter thought we should stay in a B&B in Boston seeing we were staying for 4 nights. She found The Green Turtle. It was so so relaxing. Sitting on our lounge on the deck after a day out drinking a gin and tonic in the fresh air was the...

First, great location, easy to get to, easy walk to Charlestown sights, easy ferry ride to historic Boston. Jon and Karen are excellent innkeepers, helpful, and serve a delicious breakfast. Very pleasant accommodations, and did I mention it's quiet.

This was our first visit to the Green Turtle B&B. It was everything we had hoped for and more. Beautiful spot to relax on the dock, walk along the wharf, quick trip to Boston by bus or ferry to local shops, restaurants and TD Garden. John and Karen were extremely informative regarding transportation and restaurants. Green Turtle B&B will be...

This has got to be our most favorite B&B experience to date and we have stayed in quite a few. However, this was by far the most enjoyable. We stayed on the Green Turtle 2, which is one of the yachts. The accommodations were very good and the breakfasts were very filling. The location was great and just a short...

We stayed in the Green Turtle I. I had my niece with me. The owners were amazing, great tips on restaurant choices, getting around town, and always nearby to answer questions. John helped up take our things up and down the dock. We had summer storms at night and really enjoyed the lightening! The kitchenette was useful and had everything...

Staying in Charlestown

Neighbourhood Profile
Charlestown
Charlestown’s hilly roads, narrow streets and gaslight lamps, make it an enticing neighborhood to visit. Follow the Freedom Trail over the Washington St bridge from the North End or take the scenic water locks to Paul Revere Park. Walk through City Square and stroll down cute Main street, wandering up the windy residential streets to Monument Square, where you can learn about the city’s history along with a great view of Boston at the Bunker Hill Monument. While it’s not a huge area, there are some excellent restaurants. Find your way to the Charlestown Navy Yard, which is a developing area with lots of condos and an additional site for Massachusetts General Hospital research centers. Here you will also find the USS Constitution Museum. After you’re done, hop on an MBTA ferry at the dock on Baxter street and zip on over to Long Wharf and the New England Aquarium.

The Green Turtle is a floating bed and breakfast as luxurious as it is unique. Set in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard on Boston Harbor, the Green Turtle offers an expansive view of the Boston skyline along with the comfort and amenities of a modern bed and breakfast. The USS Constitution (Old Ironsides), the Bunker Hill Monument and the Freedom Trail are a short walk away. You can take the water ferry to numerous points along the waterfront. There are dining choices from bagels to world famous dining. The Green Turtle houseboat and yachts were designed for comfort above all and the only reminder you are floating in Boston Harbor is the sound of the gulls, motion of the sea and the reflection of the ocean dancing on the ceiling. It is delightful starting your day sipping coffee or enjoying a cold beverage after a day of sightseeing while sitting on your dock chairs or aft deck watching the harbor traffic and city skyline. The Green Turtle Floating Bed and Breakfast offers 3 boat choices. The Green Turtle I is a houseboat offering two private and separate suites and each has 1 queen sized bed with luxury linens.
