We stayed 3 days at the Ames. First impression of the room was industrial. We had a deluxe king. The room was spacious, nice high ceiling and huge windows. The bathroom with the glass shower was very different. But, that added to the room looking bigger. We were very comfortable here. Bed provided a good night sleep. Air conditioning worked...

The Ames Boston Hotel was wonderful. Room 906 was very nice and we would request it the next time we stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Our view was one of the best. The hotel staff was friendly and efficient. The location was perfect. We highly recommend this hotel. One thing to note - the hotel is...

Thank you for choosing the Ames Boston I_am_very_picky. We appreciated being your home away from home while in Boston. Our team was humbled by your kind words about your stay and surrounding areas. Located across from State Street MBTA station makes it easy to get to from Logan. The staff is exceptional, new restaurant just open on hotel this week too. Walking distance to all Boston has to offer, Freedom trail is right across the street. North end restaurants are very close too.

Great staff and rooms. Excellent value and closest hotel to Fanuel Hall in Boston. Was our 29th wedding anniversary and the hotel took extreme care of us. Every staff member from the front desk to the woman who stocked the mini bar was very helpful. They went above and beyond to make our stay great.

Hilton should have kept looking before buying! Old hotel! Dreary! I was promised a Superior King prior to Hilton owning it! DOWNGRADED to a King (??????) which was a great disappointment! Room was so tiny it was unbelievable! A DARK HALLWAY was "IN THE ROOM" !!!!!!!! An obvious BOOGER was a part of a curtain that just hid a plain...

Stayed at the Ames for 4 nights for a recent conference. Went by myself before my wife joined. The exterior of the hotel is unassuming and relatively small but it clearly has been renovated and is quite charming inside. The bellman (Nicholas) was very knowledgeable and helpful with advice about the surrounding areas eateries etc. Front desk staff were equally...

pleasant staff, but that is the only positive thing to say about my Ames experience. No amenities whatsover. tiny lobby, no bar or room service, extremely minimalist accomodations in room, poor lighting, cheap towels and toilet paper. a half hour wait to retrieve our car, a 15 minute walk to cleaner to press suits for son's wedding.

Stayed for son's wedding nearby at 60 State Street. Hotel was lovely and staff were extremely helpful with everything. We loved the views. Would definitely recommend the hotel to friends and family. A little expensive for the time we spent there but lovely.

I wish i stayed longer! My room was ready early, which i really appreciated. Location is perfect and close to classic boston attractions. Tons of good local coffee shops nearby and T stations. Staff was friendly and even got us a cab to fit 5 people, so kudos there! Room was small, but efficient and had really large windows. The...

This hotel is in a convenient location to walk many places. The rooms are modern and nicely appointed. The bathrooms are spacious and the shower had great water pressure. I loved the Molton Brown toiletries. All the staff members that we can encountered were extremely friendly. The valet parking was $50 a night which is really reasonable. Nearby garages may...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
