Although the hotel is undergoing renovations, I lucked into a perfectly sized room with a fantastic bathroom, great amenities (personal loofahs!) and a bed you could sink into. It was comfortable and a great place to return to after two days of business meetings. Very helpful concierge and front desk staff (great recommendation for Mooo -- thank you!). I will...

Stayed here in June 2016 for 2 nights with my 11 year old daughter. Perfect location. We took the subway and had zero need for a car the entire trip. The location is everything, but the customer service was fantastic. They helped us with directions, got us on our way with complimentary bicycles and allowed us to check in very...

Thank you for visiting us Julie D. We were honored to host you and your daughter while visiting Boston. It was great to hear that our renovations didn't impact your stay, but we are so very excited to share that our lobby enhancement is complete, along with our meeting rooms. We do hope both of you can come back soon...

I made the reservations based on a deal from Groupon. Having only seen a photo of a suite, I was skeptical on how the hotel or our room would look. To our surprise, it was impressive. Clean. Simple. Elegant. Fresh look. And the staff....made it all the more amazing. Hayprett greeted us and checked us in. David the concierge was...

I visited the Ames while traveling for business. I called the day before since I was coming in on a redeye from the west coast, and wanted to see if they could accommodate an early check in- not only was Kamel extremely gracious in accommodating my request, he made sure to put me in a quieter room so I could...

The building is majestic on the outside and unproprtioally small on the inside. Once you enter the door, you are greeted with a very small anticlimactic lobby . The reservation desk is 1 person wide and the lobby is comparable. Our room followed the theme of "very small". The beds were low and very uncomfortable with pillows that quickly flattened...

Stayed for valentines weekend. We were greeted warmly by staff and enjoyed a lovely room with large windows overlooking the city. Loved the rain shower and spacious bathroom with towel warmer. Nice coffee area and minibar/fridge in room. Good touletries. Loved the tall ceilings and platform bed. Perfect size room for a large city in a historic building. We could...

Outstanding location right in the historic part of Boston! The hotel staff and the service were very efficient, professional and personalized. All the staff did their best and offered outstanding service. Our car and our luggage was taken as soon as we pulled up to the front door, and the same thing happened when we left! Hotel had a very...

Let me first start off by saying this had potential to be one of the best hotel stays for me. The front desk was incredible - very accommodating. The bathroom blew me away ... deep soaking tub AND a glass shower, perfect for our Valentine's Day getaway. Unfortunately a few things fell really short. I splurged and opted for the...

This hotel was perfectly located for our visits to the North End and Boston Common. T stop close by, as well as many shops, conveniences (like Starbucks on the corner). The room was large by hotel standards. Loved the "Restoration Hardware" decor. The staff sincerely wanted to make you happy. Looking forward to a return in May....hope their new restaurant...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
