Do not make a reservation here! We booked thru a 3rd party and we’re told 10 minutes before checking in that our reservation was being cancelled due to “maintenance issues” at this hotel. Despite being a frequent Bonvoy member, the supervisor was unhelpful and rude and basically told my family and I we needed to find somewhere else to stay for the night. Terrible service. Avoid this place. Pretty cruddy area also. Better places to stay around Boston.
My son and I stayed two nights for college visits in the Boston area. This Residence Inn is very new and was an excellent base for our exploration of Boston. All rooms are king bed and a quality sofa bed. Quiet room although some sirens at night being near Boston Hospital. Nice bathrooms with excellent water pressure. Standard Residence Inn kitchenette. Good complimentary breakfast in lobby. Parking was $40 but safe and secure. The location is not great for walking (although we did walk to Fenway Park in the early evening which took about 30 mins, and then took a cab back). What you sacrifice in location here is made up for by the hotel being new and having reasonable parking prices, etc. Would stay here again.
Lisa and Cathy went above and beyond !The breakfast area was so clean and setup well .They were so attentive and enjoyed assisting us , truly service with a smile .Words can’t express how much they truly added to our stay .Thanks again Lisa and Cathy
DO NOT STAY HERE! I flew into Boston with my family and arrived at the hotel at 11:30pm only to find out The hotel cancelled my reservation and had no rooms to offer. We stayed in lobby until 2am with 3 kids under 10 looking for a place to stay. The hotel did not help and had the security guard warn us we had to leave the lobby at 2AM in the morning! This hotel ruined our trip to Boston.
What was meant to be a stress free celebration of commencement, the billing has been impossible from beginning to end. Firstly my credit card wasn't accepted, being a foreigner the bank was closed in my home country so check in was not permitted even though a cash alternative was offered. My daughter (student) had a holding deposit placed on her card of $2000. To get this removed and put onto a different card has been impossible. Charges were however put through on the new credit card immediately and they have since overcharged by $1000 which is still trying to be sorted out. Has dampened our entire experience of commencement celebrations !!!!
We recently stayed at this property - and I stay at a lot of them. I have watched tough customers, hard to manage parking issues and several managers who have had to think fast through stressed parents leaving their children in a foreign city in the middle of a pandemic. What I also saw was a shining face, strong hands and a dedicated woman named Chef Pam who makes and serves the complimentary breakfast. She has thought of everything and it is stocked, staffed and clean. But most of all - delicious and satisfying for every stressed person who shuffles through. Thank you Pam and team. We’ll see you at graduation!!!
I stayed one night here because the hotel was convenient for where I needed to be. It turned out to be a very good choice. The public areas are clean and new. My room (614) - in fact the whole hotel - looked like it was decorated by Calvin Klein himself - all dove grays with black and white here and there. My room came equipped with a sofa, an ottoman, a desk and chair and large-screen tv as well as with virtually a full kitchen - full-size refrigerator, cooktop, microwave, Keurig, dishwasher and all the pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils to fill the dishwasher. The bed was a bit soft for my liking, but I think that's just me. I certainly got a good night's sleep. The bedside lights were adequate for reading. The shower (no tub) was excellent, with plenty of hot water. The towels were plentiful and of adequate quality. A hair dryer, iron and ironing board were provided, but no scale. There is an in-room safe and electrical outlets were plentiful and well-located. Although I did not use it, there was a laundry on the 6th floor - likely on each floor ($2.00 per load). As a bonus, the view of downtown Boston was magical at night. The hours for the included breakfast were a bit short for a Sunday, advertised as 7:30-10:30. The choices were standard but more than adequate: eggs, pastries, cereal, fruit. Be aware, however, that the breakfast area on the Sunday morning I was there was totally cleared and locked by 10:15, even coffee service. Bottom line - if the price is good and the location convenient for you, this is a very good choice in Boston.…
Stayed one night 7/8/21 got two rooms for 2 adults and three 18 year old baseball players. TS Elsa was bearing down on the Northeast and the following day’s games were rained out. We chose to stay here because I’m a BonVoy Gold and my wife is a BonVoy Silver member and this was the closest Marriott property to Jamaica Plain where the next day’s games were to be played. We got a King Studio for the boys and my wife and I stayed in the Larger King Studio. Both rooms were great but the Larger King Studio is worth the extra cost for the more spacious feel. Really enjoyed the size of our room. The bathroom was large, bed was comfortable, excellent lighting options, two TVs, and nice kitchen area. There was a basic breakfast down in the lobby in the morning (scrambled eggs, Andouille sausage, chicken sausage, yogurt, toast/bagels, juice dispenser, etc...) Hotel is secure and requires a room keycard to get into the lobby or security buzzes you in and your room key only allows you to only take the elevator to your floor. The only major inconvenience of this hotel was parking. It’s in Roxbury but still within the city of Boston. There is a small gated hotel parking area that we learned after we arrived required a separate reservation ($25/day). The lot was full for the night and with two cars we had to find parking on the street. At 8:00 PM this was not the easiest or most convenient thing to do in the rain. I wish the parking situation was more apparent on the website. I would have gladly reserved parking if I knew it was likely that their tiny lot would most likely be full. The parking situation also caused us to not want to drive to a nearby to a wonderfully reviewed Spanish tapas restaurant (Toro) that we were planning to eat dinner at because we were worried that we would not be able to find parking at the hotel after our meal. This was a major disappointment. We ordered food to be delivered from a burger joint instead and this took over an hour to get to us lukewarm. There are no food options within walking distance of the hotel that I would feel safe walking to at night. No on-site dinner options other than microwave food from the hotel’s lobby snack area. Food options were a disappointment. In short, loved the room but hated the parking and food situation. Staff was professional but not what I would call friendly or particularly helpful regarding our parking or food concerns. It was kind of like ‘sorry but that’s not our fault.’ Next time I would probably stay at a different Residence Inn with better parking options and closer to more abundant dining. The room is great but not worth the additional hassles and laissez faire staff attitude about parking/food. A little more empathy and help (dining suggestions: “order from this place”) would have made me feel like they actually cared about me and my quest to feed three hungry 18 year old boys at 8:00 at night.…
We stayed at this property in May 2021 in preparation for my mother's upcoming surgery at Faulkner Hospital. While that trip was short -- just a few days -- we knew this property would be the ideal place to lodge when we returned in June for an extended reservation that would begin before her surgery and continue a bit thereafter during her recuperation. As a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member, I've stayed a lot of nights in a lot of Marriotts around the world and this property rates among the best! This hotel is sleek, spotless, and stylish, and the staff is extremely accommodating to any requests for housekeeping and package delivery (special shout-out to Curtis, the engineer). Moreover, the adjacent parking lot is gated and felt safe, even when I returned from the hospital one time at nearly midnight. While I could go on and on with more accolades, I need to reserve the most for General Manager Gael Shungu, who is absolutely fantastic! He went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, including helping with a specific parking request I made during our three weeks at the hotel. Furthermore, we thought we'd actually leave Boston earlier than expected when one of my mother's post-op appointment dates was pushed back a month. Mr. Shungu graciously accommodated that request to modify our booking only to kindly change us back to our original reservation the next day when it turned out the drive back to New Jersey was going to prove too difficult for my mother and we'd need the extra days for her to rest. He always wished us well and ensured a prompt reply to the many, many emails I sent to him. In addition, his colleague Sheila Townes is incredibly helpful and polite. We are returning to Boston in August and September for two post-op appointments and look forward to staying here again. I encourage you to do the same; you won't be disappointed!…
Selected this property to use up some Bonvoy credit card free nights as it is the only Marriott property in Boston that is available for that purpose. Ubered from Logan (about $22) and was happy to see it is located close to transit and right across the street from a latin supermarket with lots of interesting food and drink to take back to the room. It was a direct bus ride (or easy walk) to the MFA or Isabella Stewart Gardner museums. Also, if you like to walk it is only a 1.5 mile walk to Copley Sq. or Back Bay. Breakfast buffet was up and well stocked (although still no evening mgr. receptions yet). Rooms are large well equipped with European appliances (cooktop, dishwasher, disposal and microwave). They take guest security seriously with a guard and elevators that require a card for access. Parking is limited.…
