I was passing through Boston for work in late November. I decided to venture further out of the immediate downtown/BackBay area to stay at this property. I figured the hotel was new and close enough to downtown to give it a try. The hotel is new and well decorated. It looks nice, but I am surprised they chose to use carpet in the rooms instead of laminate. Most new hotels seem to be using hard surface flooring nowadays due to the dirt that carpet holds. Anyhow, if you're staying here in the next year or two, it shouldn't be an issue b/c the place is still in new condition. The shower was great. Large walk-in shower with a glass glider and great water pressure. The view from my room was stunning. It included the Boston skyline from an angle you don't typically see. My main problem with this hotel, and why I WILL NOT stay here again, is the cheap, horribly uncomfortable mattress and pillows used for the beds. The mattress is rock hard. The pillows are just as bad, it's like placing your head on a rock. I didn't have a backache when I checked-in to this hotel, but I certainly left with one. I could hardly stand in the morning. Not sure what the franchise owner was thinking. The location is okay because the red line T station is across the street. It's super easy to access the subway. However, I much prefer the hotels downtown where you can just step out into the city without having to use the subway every time you have to venture out. Anyhow, it's a beautiful property with uncomfortable beds.…
Felt inclined to write this review after seeing the hotel is only 3 stars. It genuinely deserves 5, the decor is great in person, the staff are lovely and the hotel is very clean, and in a convenient location. The bed and pillows are super comfy and the room just feels cosy. We have just come from NY City, we stayed in a 4 star RIU but this is much better. Thanks all at the Cambria!
Good stay at Cambria Boston - positive points were reception staff excellent and helpful, rooms comfortable and great view from 12 floor over Boston. Very close to Broadway station and easy connections into Boston and beyond. On the downside - bar on the 14 floor was a rip off $8 for a small can of beer and loud music blasting out . We left . Did not try food at the hotel as there were other places to eat close by . Would recommend and not as expensive as downtown hotels.
This is a lovely hotel with a great location - it’s ten minutes by Uber from Logan airport and sits directly opposite the Broadway T line station so you can easily access the rest of the city. Our room was a good size (we had a king bed which was very comfortable) and was equipped with tea and coffee making facilities, a safe and fridge. The staff were very helpful and friendly and it was a great base for our visit to the city. I recommend getting the seven day Charlie pass from the T station as it’s the cheapest and easiest way to get about - very good value too- we used it numerous times in our five day stay.
We were in town post-cruise. Having never been to Boston, we searched for a spot to allow us some sight-seeing. Nothing is cheap in Boston, but this place was more reasonable than others. Easy check-in, nice rooms, unusual decor. Located right across from a subway station. Also has a convenience store next door. Several restaurants in the same block.
Easy check in. Staff friendly. Valet was $50 a night. 12 th floor 1201 had a view ofBoston. Was suppose to have roof top bar with food but was closed because of wind. Very quiet and would stay here again. Modern bathroom. Nice built out for hanging clothes and nice small light for reading in bed.
The Cambria Hotel Boston Downtown is outstanding and in such a great location, just one stop from South Station and two stops from Downtown Crossing. The staff are excellent, very friendly and professional. David who checked me in was gracious and welcoming… I’m staying for over a week and it feels like home! The rooms are very comfortable as are the beds… I’ve slept better here than I do at home! I love South Boston as well, you cannot fault the hotel or the location! Thank you for an enjoyable stay, I will stay here next time I’m in Boston!
We stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights at the start of Oct 2022. Upon arrival, the concierge took $100 from my card in case we used any room service. This is standard practice I’m told. We did not use any room service. I have been waiting for over 2 weeks since we left the hotel and have still not received my money back. I keep being told to “wait a few days more” and only after I kept sending them emails about it. No one on their end appears to be trying to resolve the situation at all. It’s utterly disgraceful!! They took my money quick enough though!! Would not recommend.
We stayed here for a night after a cruise. The hotel is just to the south of downtown but not too far to walk and the metro is nearby. We were able to check in early and the reception staff were very helpful in arranging taxis etc. We had a big, modern room, very comfortable and well equipped, even with electric blinds! We didn't eat here (plenty of restaurant options nearby) but had a pleasant drink in the bar. A good option for a stop over.
I booked the Cambria in Boston weeks in advance of my trip. When I arrived from an out of town flight I was told that the hotel was overbooked that night and there was nothing they could do to help. By that time it was after to 9M and I had no idea where I would be staying that night having come from out of state for a conference. Thankfully a nearby hotel had a room I was able to book, but I booked that on my own accord rather than the Cambria staff trying to help me with an alternative. I was told there was no Manager on duty that could help. 0 Customer Service and 0 concern for booking processes.
