We found this hotel to be very quiet with very comfortable beds and everything required for a quick stay. The rooms are getting a little dated but are still clean and comfortable. The location is really convenient as there are several restaurants in the immediate location and it is easily walkable to many attractions.
The Wyndham on Beacon Hill however I room was outdated. The king bed was comfortable but the rest of the room so-so Disappointing because of the price we paid Boston is a fun city to visit. The restaurant was great for breakfast. We were very pleased with the food and the service.
Friendly helpful staff. Whilst the hotel is tired and needs a refurbishment it was very clean. A more upto date coffee machine would have been appreciated in the room. For some not having a fridge would be an issue. Good bar and brilliant location.
I have in the past always enjoyed Wyndham hotels. This time, not so much. We were looking forward to a little pool time, but discovered the pool was closed without notification. There were inadequate tv/movie options. We had to load and unload in the entry area in the presence of homeless addicts while the valet men and security guard stood by. This, for $400/night in one of the nicer areas of Boston.
Great location, fitness center and outdoor pool to relax in after enjoying all the sights of Boston! Walking distance to Cheers, the North End, Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market, Newberry Street, Boston Commons and more!
The staff was pleasant enough, but the hotel is very worn out. The walls were dingy and the carpet worn down. It needs a lot of updating. Also, the whole place smelled like a hospital. It was a very disappointing hotel.
Room was a little dated, but overall well equipped and clean. Restaurant and bar was nice .Great location, easy walking distance to many of the historical sites and districts. Short cab or Uber ride form the airport.
This hotel is definitely showing it's age and is absurdly over-priced. The amenities in each room are inconsistent even though they are priced and advertised the same. Some have refrigerators & microwaves and some don't. Some of the phones in the rooms work, some don't. The maid service is definitely not thorough and the carpet is in desperate need of cleaning. You must request maid service or you won't have any. Our soap dish was never cleaned, some days we got washcloths, other days we did not. I found popcorn under the bed and we never had any. Bottled water is complimentary but only placed the first day, if at all. We had several rooms reserved and most everyone commented on how disappointed they were with the service. Check in was unprofessional and when someone finally showed up to check us in, there was no greeting, she didn't look us in the eye, no hello...nothing. The restaurant servers are the same, obviously grumpy and no hello. Their website claims room service but there is none. This is a very low level hotel that is, again, ridiculously over-priced because it's in the city. There are too many wonderful hotels to choose from and this is definitely not worth it. I would never stay here again!…
Our housekeeper was excellent, and the front desk staff was very responsive. The pool was a pleasant surprise, the deck area was great. Furniture needs replacement and lobby needs a reno, but we’d stay again.
For Boston, this might seem like a normal price for what you get, but we found the bed rather small (twin sized bed instead of queen like it looks like in pictures), and the bath was stained (but clean). We enjoyed our stay and the location, but just be aware that the pictures are prettier than the reality.
