I booked this hotel for a one night stay, upon arriving I found the room to be in worse conditions than the pictures showed. The carpets were filthy and the bed was definitely not the Queen size I had requested. When I called down to the desk to request a room change I was rudely told there were no other...

Was in the city for one night and had free Expedia points to use; was excited because it was close to the Commons. This hotel is the most difficult to find and park...and find again once you've parked...ever. There is a small sign up at the top of the corner of the building..no sign over the door...at all. No indication...

I booked this hotel for one night before a cruise after reading some favorable reviews on another site and was so disappointed to walk in and have to haul our luggage to a front desk with one person. The lobby had stained carpets and chairs plus there was no restaurant on site. When we got to our room, we found...

In town for BU Parents Weekend and Head of The Charles. The town is booked. Found this place because all hotels boost their rates this weekend. GREAT Location...BUT...Although it was cheaper than most it's old, tired and not well maintained. Bathroom was a mess...water pressure in shower was weak. Bed was ok. Overall an average experience.

Not clean, run down and generally shabby. I understand it was fully booked - probably with people like me who were unprepared to pay the high rates of the neighbouring hotels. the lift was out of action for a few hours and the staff are totally disinterested in providing any assistance for anything. on great thing was that on the...

Our room overlooked a parking garage, not the best view, and the bathroom was small but you don't visit Boston to hang out in the room. Breakfast was served in a lovely sunny area, typical continental fare and hot items. The location is what makes this a great hotel. Walkable distance to restaurants, shopping the the commons and very close...

Suited what I needed as I was out all day. My only gripe was the carpets are disgusting. I knew there was no wifi in the bedrooms so no surprise there, and I never found breakfast if there was any. A really nice diner called Flour round the corner was great though. With added wifi and new carpets this would...

We had a room on the 7th floor which although somewhat tired was clean and more than adequate for our needs. Although the bath was chipped we had hot water and clean towels and clean sheets. We had coffee making facilities and a flat screen television. Yes, although the hotel is tired ( it is to be demolished in 2...

Booked this hotel for its central location. Few days before arriving, read the awful reviews here and we were concerned but too late to change accommodation. So we went in with the least expectation. We must be lucky, our room and bathroom were not as bad as some reviewers had. The furniture was old and scratchy, has seen better days...

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
