The staff of the hotel were great. They were very welcoming. We did in fact experience a problem with our room, and they were very apologetic and immediately made it right for us so the rest of our state was wonderful. The area is not in a touristy part of town, nor “the best” but it surely has the feel of many other busy urban areas. The security presence in the hotel was very visible. They were great and we always felt safe. The location is also 10 minutes or so from many great parts of Boston that you would want to visit so we appreciated the close proximity.

I personally liked my stay, just feel it could've been better.
I don't think the location is great, hotel area is surrounded by Homeless people. Nothing against homeless people but honestly the value of the hotel to me is less because of the feeling of lack of safety outside. Also the hotel entrance, when you walk in looks and feels like a Hospital Entrance.

Response from Thea M, General Manager at Hampton Inn & Suites Boston Crosstown Center
Responded 17 Jan 2020
Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent stay at our Hampton Inn. I am pleased to hear you enjjoyed your stay. Our urban location adjacent to the hospital is convenient for guests in town for appointments, and this does result in a busy street. I apologize if this disturbed your stay. Despite this, I hope you enjoyed the rest of your time in Boston. Thank you again for your kind feedback. Thea Melluzzo General Manager

The stay started out good. There was a maintenance problem in the room that was taken care of right away. Breakfast was good but a 2nd waffle maker is needed. Requested towels were partially delivered & the remaining towel request didn’t arrive. The next day it took 3 requests & 2.5 hours later, still no towels. That evening we arrived back at the hotel to find the towels were left in the bathroom when we had a do not disturb sign in the door. Normally the towels would be left outside the door in a bag. Staff was aware we didn’t want anyone in the room when we weren’t there when we had made the maintenance request. They pushed personal items into each other on the counter with the towels. Small roaches were seen in the room, the carpet was torn where the door stop was missing & the toilet seat was loose. The shower head was very old, didn’t spray well & the tub drained but should drain faster. Reporting items to staff didn’t seem to cause any concern & a note was not written. Also, aggressive homeless people are in the area at the closest Mobile gas station across the street.

If I could rate this hotel 0 stars I would. I’m not even sure where to begin! Our room smelled of cigarettes awful and like someone attempted to cover up the smell with air freshener. The top sheet wasn’t even the size of the bed. No bedding for the pullout couch and when we called to get some no one answered the front desk phone so we had to go downstairs ourselves to get it. There are homeless people clearly staying in the hotel as they are wandering in the halls and the lobby groaning and shuffling around. It felt like we were in a shelter or something. We came up to our room at one point to see a woman using a broom to sweep the carpeted hallway. As we approached she didn’t stop and just kept sweeping in our direction. This was not housekeeping obviously! Just a random homeless woman sweeping the carpet to nowhere!! The pool was okay, very small. No towels available at the pool. Tried to call from the pool area down to the front desk, but the phone doesn’t work. Husband has to go down all the way to the lobby once again to get more towels. It’s just ridiculous to pay over $300 a night to essentially be staying in a shelter!! I’m pissed to say the least!!

I have just checked-in at the Hampton Inn & Suites Boston Crosstown Center and was informed by the staff that no transfer was available to the airport (which was included in the package bought) and that they had no alternative transportation to the airport. Not only that, the manager on duty - Daniel Santos Jr - was very rude, had no intention of helping and said that they had no responsibility about the transportation to the airport. The only option given was to cancel our reservation.
Additionally, he said that the transfers have been cancelled since March, so I would like to know why ParkSleepFly still offers it online and why Hampton Inn has not informed the website before.
The only reason we decided to stay in this hotel was because of the convenience of the shuttle advertised by ParkSleepFlly, so we could take our flight at 5:20 in the morning without stress.
The interesting thing is that ParkSleepFly blames Hampton Inn and the hotel blames ParkSleepFly, but nobody offered to help.

Absolutely do not stay at this Hotel. As Diamond Club members, we have stayed at 100s of Hilton’s and this is no better then a local motel which allows the homeless to reside in it. It had a strange feel when we entered and only when we found our room was located across from a person who was housed here with his belongings lined up in the hallway did we realize the extent of the problem. Our room smelled of cigarettes and the surfaces were filthy within the room. The sirens were non stop because of its location next to a hospital. When we called the front desk to voice our concerns the clerk kindly moved us to another room which smelled equally bad and was also filthy. We are in the process of trying to re-book a room at another Hilton in Boston. Pay attention to the low reviews on this hotel. We should have.

This hotel is not in a good location. I should have researched the area. Lesson learned. They warned us the night before that the water would be shut off the next day from 9am to 2pm so we were rushed to use the bathroom in the morning. Not a relaxing feeling. When we got back we had to deal with brown water and was not warned about it or how to handle it or given assurances that it was safe. I ran the water for 15 -20 minutes until clear but the next time we turned it in it was brown again. So we did not feel safe to brush out teeth or shower with this water. We used bottled water to brush our teeth. This made our vacation stressful!

I’m not sure how anyone could rate this property more than one star

The area is terrible with substance abuse users all over the property.

You CAN NOT leave your property as it is unsafe

The property is adjacent to a hospital so you hear sirens and sounds all hours of the night. Also the adjacent parking lot is rat infested. We paid $25/night and would run every night from the parking lot to our hotel. My husband was spat on by a passerby that was clearly high on drugs. We felt unsafe at all times leaving and entering the property.
A security guard was there some of the time but mainly on their personal phones and not outside the hotel:

Breakfast was mediocre with eggs that came out of a can.

No water pressure in the showers and wifi was down the entire duration of our trip. We paid a rate that any high end property in Boston would have charged to be surrounded by filth and a unsafe property. Do not recommend to anyone staying with children or young adults.

Simply appalling that Hilton would even have any association with this property.

Early check in not available which I understand but knowing that I’m a Gold member, they should consider reaching out to me as soon as a room gets ready. Checked in at around 4PM. Not given complimentary waters at check in or snacks. No acknowledgement for being a Gold member. As soon as we got into the room, we saw a case of ginger ale inside the fridge and the freezer part was leaking with dust on the bottom. Few minutes after check in, we have to call engineering as there was a shortage that happened. The A/C just turned off and the outlets by the nightstand stopped working. Did it again and it worked. Water was brown when I turned on the faucet by the bathtub. Not sure if there was a clog or a plumbing issue. Front desk doesn’t greet guests. Breakfast is not appealing. I’ve been to other Hampton Inns before post COVID and it wasn’t like that.

The hotel was good, it was rather the other guests that ruined the stay. Unfortunately staff have no control over what other guests do in their rooms. Breakfast was good, staff was able to keep up with the amount of guests that were steadily streaming in and out. They was very pleasant and just very helpful!! A big Thanks to the staff!!
