We recently stayed at Loews Hotel Boston to visit our son who is studying at North Eastern. A wonderful hotel in a great quiet location. Beautiful old building, being the former Police Headquarters. Rooms very tastefully planned and decorated and cleanliness excellent. Staff very professional, friendly and helpful. Strongly recommend giving this hotel a try.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

First time in Boston and first time at a Loews hotel - extremely impressed by both! Welcoming porters, friendly and efficient check in, comfortable and well appointed room, great atmosphere in the bar/restaurant area, sensibly priced bar food - all good. I try to leave some constructive criticism for hotels that I visit but it's difficult on this occasion. My...

Booked 1 night stay on Hotwire and was really pleased that hotel turned out to be Loews. Rate was excellent and I booked a room with King bed (but wanted 2 doubles). At check in the staff readily agreed to swap to a room with 2 double beds which was very generous as they did not need to do this....

My daughter is in university in Boston and so we've travelled there many times. I love boutique hotels because they feel like a home away from home, with just enough great service without the crowds or glitz. This hotel gives you everything you need: large, comfy rooms that are modern and clean, helpful and available staff, central location near Back...

Location is everything in Boston and Loews has a great location in Back Bay. Our room was immaculate, the staff friendly and the lobby offered a great coffee station to help us keep going all weekend long. We visited over St. Patrick's Day weekend and despite a 1am fire alarm that evacuated the entire building, it was a perfect stay....

Good Central location within Boston and just a five minute walk from the train. The staff were friendly and helpful and our bedroom was clean and spacious with an empty fridge that you could use. There's a relaxing lounge downstairs to have coffee and watch the world go by.

Everything was perfect! Staff, food and location x we will definitely return.... Must go to the precinct bar and have their sharing platters! Or if you have any questions as them at the front desk always willing to help! The gentleman on the door, work hard and always pleasant and helpful!

Fantastic hotel, excellent service and ideal location. Breakfast expensive and ordinary compared to the many independent eateries situated close by. They must realise that they do not have a captive market and improve on this. For me, the pricing was the issue.

Stayed here in 2012, beautiful clean welcoming hotel. The staff were very accommodating and we had the most awesome room with beautiful views. The room was very clean, modern, provided everything we needed inc a very comfy bed, slept like a baby :-). We celebrated our 15th anniversary on our last visit from the UK, and this year we are...

Great time and thourghly enjoyable accommodation and service provided by staff in a relaxed and informal manner. Enjoyed the availability of excellent quality free coffee in the Hotel Lounge area but a small downside was the $5 charge for bottled water in the room.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
It's not often that a hotel embodies all that a city stands for, but the Loews Boston is just that place. Housed in the stately limestone building that was once home to the Boston Police Headquarters, our recently renovated boutique property is-like the city of Boston itself-a unique and unforgettable blend of historic charm, urbane sophistication and authentic New England hospitality. Our exclusive Back Bay location, which is ideally situated between three of Boston's hottest neighborhoods-the South End, the Theater District and the Back Bay-puts you in the heart of all that Boston has to offer, with everything you want to see or experience, including the shopping on Newbury Street, just moments away. If you are in town for an event at one of Boston's many colleges and universities, we offer effortless access to the campuses of Boston University, Boston College, Harvard, Northeastern, Emerson and Tufts Medical School, to name just a few. Our 225 spacious guestrooms, two luxury suites and an expansive Presidential Suite have been freshly renovated and bring you the ultimate in modern convenience and comfort. And our recently updated 1,024-square-foot Harrison Room-with its vaulted, 20-foot cathedral ceilings and crystal chandelier-is an unparalleled event space and the perfect location for your next intimate gathering. ... more   less
