This was my first time back in Boston after 13 1/2 years, the last time in town I stayed at The Intercontinental Hotel Boston (on the site of the Boston Tea Party) with my parents and brother. In the years since 2009, my life changed… I became a “Furry” and now own a “Fursuit” named Joe Bear (based on My “Fursona” or character) I finally returned to Boston this year (by invite from a friend who lived there) to attend the Northeast’s premier furry convention “Anthro New England” from Jan 20th-23rd, 2023. My friend “Anthrocoon” was also my roomie, also my Taxi driver to and from Logan Int’l and was able to split costs to get this stay at a much cheaper rate (After experiencing “Further Confusion” in San Jose - which was not cheap!! Please check my last two reviews including my review of FC’s con hotel San Jose Marriott). Unlike FC, I was able to keep my budget in control, only paying for my share of room and reg - the United flight was free by using MileagePlus miles. Once ‘Anthrocoon’ picked me up and took me around downtown Boston, we arrived at the hotel as snow started to fall!! It was a treat to see snow for the first time in ages (Remember, we don’t get snow in L.A.) - Coming into valet, there was some confusion as they were getting swamped!! But, we were able to get his car in valet, come into the amazing lobby with the huge Mitsubishi Diamond vision-like video monitor that showed ANE related messages and video art - IMPRESSIVE!! I was able to check in with my roomie at the Elite desk (and get my MR Platinum Elite registered so we could enjoy free hot breakfast in their full service restaurant each morning for 3 days, and it was worth it!! Once checked in, we got to our room on the 11th floor (Room #1152) which was very spacious and nice. As we had only two folks, it was very comfortable and I was able to put my fursuit to one side without cluttering the room. We kept the room clean throughout our stay, opting for little to no housekeeping as I had my Bear out on the side of the room and I was very protective of my fursuit. I was able to recycle old towels, make the beds and empty trash on my own, keeping the room very clean. The crushed ice machine on our floor was so cool!! I had fun using the machine all weekend. San Jose Marriott needs to learn from Westin, The elevators were so fast and reliable!! It was a breeze to go down to the lobby, panel rooms and convention hall with relative ease, even on the very busy sat and sun schedule, ANE staff also manned crowd control which was very pleasing. The panel rooms were easy to access, and the main ballroom on lower floor for events was easy peasy. I must say, ANE picked the RIGHT Hotel for their con, a convention that is sure to grow in the next few years. Kudos to the restaurant writers and staff each morning for our fully cooked buffet style breakfast, my roomie loved the fact he could order a delicious omelet of his liking, heck I did too!! We had late checkout on Monday, and we were very satisfied with the stay and the way the convention went. I would STRONGLY RECOMMEND Westin Boston Seaport District Hotel for a con or even a relaxing weekend in the city. It was a great return to Boston, to truly experience the winter season and to see friends I haven’t seen in years. I hope to return again in a future year. FIVE CLAWS UP HIGH!!!!! Furry Approved!! Also, we enjoyed MJ O’Connors for dinner on Fri and Sat as we didn’t want to leave the property, food was exceptional as well!! Thanks for reading my review of Westin Boston Seaport District Hotel. Amazing stay! Breakfast is always a delight especially when you have Fritz Saintil and Petraq Shkoza making your day better. Definitely one of my favorite hotels. Cant wait to be back in Boston in any season!
We stopped in for a quick breakfast and were quickly seated in Kenny's section. Wow- what a delight Kenny is! His professionalism, warm personality and engagement transformed what we thought would be a run of the mill breakfast into a memorable experience. Kenny quickly greeted us, made a breakfast recommendation and engaged is conversation. Kenny is a natural people person, quick with a heartfelt smile and terrific engagement. People like Kenny are diamonds; rare and valuable. Bringing a smile to people's faces and making their day better. Thanks Kenny!
We had a wonderful visit during a dance convention this weekend. Kenny and Jenny were amazing servers who know we had a time crunch but still helped us with smile!! Moved quickly helping our large group. Thank you
Beautiful facility and comfortable rooms. Well-located with easy access to public transit. Fitness center was great and many on-site dining options. Rooms are well-equipped and modern. Overall a very comfortable stay at a very nice hotel.
My husband and I planned to stay here for a conference at the convention center in January. The rooms were released in September and we booked a room with a king bed immediately. We arrive late Thursday night, the parking at the hotel was full so we had to go park in city parking (annoying but whatever). I go check in and get to the room and there is a very small Murphy bed in the room. We immediately bring our things back to the desk as we assumed there was a mistake and they inform us that there is absolutely no other room for them to put us in. Come to find out we have friends who booked 2 days before when a bunch of rooms mysteriously opened up and had a real bed in their room. I then speak to the manager who says he will give us a half priced rate and that’s the best they can do. They overbook the hotel and don’t make it right. The convenience of it being attached to the convention center is nice but at what cost.…
Being a Titanium Elite Bonvoy member work takes me to many places. I have to save one of the shining parts of staying at the Westin Seaport is not just thr convenience to the convention center, but waking up every morning and going to the Saucery for breakfast. I don’t know how they do it from leader ship to everybody that works here you are greeted with smiles, and what more can we do for you attitude. What an amazing way to start your day. Food is great. Service is quick and most important service is always with a smile.
I had one of the best experiences at a hotel in my life in which the staff went so far above and beyond for me. Brendan and Jessica, the Director of Front Office and House Keeping Manager respectively saved my trip for me. I was walking to the hotel; and when I was a few blocks away I had some sludge from a building fall on me and cover the dry cleaned shirt and slacks I was carrying for an important meeting that I had later that evening. When I arrived at the hotel, Brendan told me that their dry cleaning had been picked up by their service for the day, but he assured me that he would be able to take care of me and would have my clothing cleaned and back to me in time. A few hours later, I checked in with him to make sure that he had been able to call them back. I totally understood if he hadn't been - it was snowing ferociously outside, so my plan was to go shopping nearby and buy new clothing to be able to make my meeting. He told me that while they hadn't been able to get the service to come back to the hotel, Jessica had been able to figure out how to remove the stain and had cleaned, dried, and pressed my clothing. He told me to wait right there and quickly grabbed my clothing for me. I could not thank them enough for going so far above and beyond for me, it was an absolutely crucial save for me. I will absolutely be back. A+++++++++ Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!!…
I attend a convention at this hotel every January, and have stayed there for the duration. This year, I ended up getting sick right before the convention, and had to cancel my room. This, by the way, was at the convention’s insistence. First, I attempted to get through to someone to do this three days before, called the 800 number, but kept getting disconnected on their end. This was aggravating enough, especially with being sick. Then I finally got through to someone the next day, and they told me I’d be all set, no charges. Then a week later, my card bounced because they had charged me after all. It’s now been over a week, I’ve reached out four times at this point, and I’m pretty sure they’re ignoring me. Horrendous customer service, and they obviously don’t care a bit about their customers. I suppose this should not be surprising , given how they’ve dealt with people who stay there for this convention in the past, but still. I certainly never want to give them any of my hard-earned money, which sucks because I love going to this convention. But this whole experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth and I’m not sure I can get over it enough to attend in the future. Certainly I don’t want to stay there ever again. I know they don’t actually care about their customers, but it’s too bad because they had a guaranteed customer in me every year. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about this experience. Never stay at a Westin, unless you like throwing your money away to stay at an overpriced, not very good hotel. They do not care at all about their repeat customers…
I worked with the Westin Seaport as a vendor at a conference in January 2023, and had the pleasure of working with Heather De Jaco from the Events team. She was truly the best - she was available at the drop of a hat whenever our team needed something, she had (or tirelessly sought) answers for every question, and she guided me personally to places in the hotel where I needed to go to pick up or drop off supplies. I cannot recommend enough working with the Westin for event planning - and if you're lucky enough to have Heather assigned to your event, you are truly in good hands!
