Efficient large hotel, good responsive customer service, spacious rooms, swift elevators, well-equipped gym, lively lobby. Absence of an outlook pool a shortcoming. Location on a one-way street makes departure a bit tricky.

We stayed at the last minute and the staff were very accommodating. They provided a comfortable, large king sized room; and the hotel is in a busy and great location. Great pool and gym which is easily accessible. Wonderfully helpful concierge and bell staff.

My husband and I stay in Boston very often. We usually stay at The Intercontinental Hotel. After traveling we walk into the lobby with a great sigh of relief, " We are home!"we have stayed at other hotels and once we check in we look at each other and say "We should have stayed at The Intercontinental!" We love it all!...

Recently traveled to Boston for a family wedding We had an excellent stay at the Intercontinental. The room was large and airy with a very comfortable bed and a great bathroom. The staff and especially the concierge were helpful and friendly. The hotel is beautifully located on the water, having drinks on the patio was a pleasure and the food...

Johann is the man. Entertained us for hours while making tasty drinks. The atmosphere is the best here at the Intercontinental and with the incredible views of the waterfront this is a must stop for a few rounds. Water Taxi is right outside the bar. Must visit

Life, made. First time in Boston, and Johann was such a treat! If you're looking for an energetic bartender who is attentive and interactive, come here. I would stay here all day if I could! Couple, single, group... All will feel comfortable! Enjoy :)

Okay. From a former bartender, Johann is one of the best bartenders I've ever had. First off, he's obviously beautiful. Those eyes are insane. But even more than that, he is such a friendly, kind, welcoming person who makes you feel comfortable. He's so great to be around and I wish I lived here so I could hang out at...

We stayed in room 1118 which faces an office building, but we did have a limited view of the canal to the left. The room was spacious. In addition to the office desk and chair, there was another chair, and a chaise lounge in the room with a king bed, and you still had plenty of room to move about....

Before I got to my room which had no electrical outlets working, the desk had already earned a one star rating. I wish I could give this hotel a zero. I am a frequent traveler and am away from home between 150 and 200 days a year. I've faced many challenges with hotels but this was the worst, I stayed...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.

“There was no refrigerator in our room. We could of used one for drinks and desserts we could not eat at dinner, but brought back to the room for a late night snack. That is just how we travel, if you usually don't need a refrigerator, then it's perfect for you. It was a fantastic room even without the fridge.”
