Hate to be a downer with so many good reviews, as that's what I used to ultimately choose Godfrey. Right off the bat, was not greeted or assisted by the valet/staff 3 ft away. After unloading the bags, had to ask if he could help with the car. Otherwise all staff were great. Had a broken AC unit 1st night and after they checked it, said just give it time. Came back to the room late & it was worse. We had to pack up & move everything ourselves and a Queen room wasn't available. They did give us a voucher for $20 for coffee, but for a total - with parking & fees, of $1k for 2 nights, the experience really could have been better. Great location though & as most reviews mentioned; clean.
The Godfrey has been a wonderful discovery. It's an easy (15 minute) walk from South Station, and its location makes it a fine home base for the theaters and museums in the central part of the city. There's a T stop very near the hotel, and Boston Common and Boylston Street are a short walk from the hotel. Rooms are modern and spotless, and the staff is friendly and very helpful. After dinner and a show in the city, we returned to find a handwritten note on the bed thanking us for choosing the hotel. Fridge in the room, lots of closet space, plenty of outlets for charging devices, complimentary cookies and water, etc. There's a very nice coffee shop adjacent to the hotel which connects to the lobby.
The Godfrey Hotel is outstanding. The hotel itself is beautiful, the rooms spacious and clean, but what really stands out is the service. Impeccable. Location of this hotel puts you in walking distance to everything!
Wonderful, welcoming and spotless. The hotel is located walking distance to many things. The staff is attentive, engaged, and helpful. The adjoining coffee shop is a lucky addition for a quick breakfast or caffeine fix! Loved it
The staff was so kind and accommodating. The rooms were a little small, but clean, comfortable, and modern. The amenities were great! The Godfrey offers a complimentary Polaroid camera which was so fun to capture retro memories! Would definitely stay again!
Clean hotel, nice room and fabulous location made for a great couple of days in Boston. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful, having a coffee location that I could order from my phone and step downstairs to grab was a bonus. Was not disappointed at all. We walked a few blocks and were right there ready for our walking tour of the freedom trail.
Excellent experience overall 10/10! Hotel is swanky and modern inside and in an ideal location which allowed us to get around the city quite easily. Rooms were clean and functional with pillow top mattresses and black-out blinds. Although we didn’t dine at the hotel restaurant, the coffee shop attached to the lobby was stellar! Nice touch having the door held each and every time you enter or depart. Check in & out was smooth and very quick. Only recommendation would be to add a small mini fridge in the rooms for cold beverages and take-out food.
We had booked two rooms. The rooms looked worn out. There was no refrigerator in one room. One room was right on the roof terrace of another building where there was a construction site. Construction noise from 6:00 in the morning. The hotel staff was dismissive and condescending when asked to remedy these problems.
The staff are top of the line professionals who will anticipate you're every need Rooms are very comfortable air condition works well beds very comfortable You can't beat the location i would definitely stay again
Great hotel with little charming touches that made it special. Great vibe from young people at the bar to families to older people playing cards in the lobby—something for everyone. The attached coffee shop was an extra bonus. Really friendly staff, very comfortable room.
