Stayed for two nights. Staff was very friendly and helpful. An older structure, but rooms were modern and very clean. I have high expectations for cleanliness when I travel and I would return in a heartbeat. Nice to have the bar/restaurant next door. Within walking distance of back bay shops and many points of interest. I would not hesitate to...

We stayed here for three nights. The price was through the roof but that's to be expected when the Red Sox plays the Yankees. Room was very small with two twin beds. Beds were ok but not terribly comfortable. Not a lot of room if you have big bags. Bathroom was tiny. Shower was big enough but the shower hot...

After 4 nights at the nearby Park Plaza Hotel for business, I moved to the Chandler Inn for an additional day to explore the city and was pleasantly satisfied. The Chandler is a few blocks' walk from the Park Plaza, in a good neighborhood an easy walk from Boston Common. My room had a queen bed, HD flatscreen TV, credenza...

Nothing special but it is clean and quiet. Within walking distance from the back bay stop. The restaurant attached serves breakfast. Staff was not overly friendly or helpful but never rude. We left our bags there after check out and were fortunate they weren't stolen. They were never put away from the public view and when we went to get...

Whenever a hotel has three negative strikes, I'm tempted to warn others. We stayed at the Chandler Inn for two nights at the end of August, 2016. The room was piping hot at bedtime and the wall thermostat didn't cool the room at all. We were told the following morning, after complaining to the front desk, that there is a...

Boston is a really expensive place to stay. I selected this hotel as it was £159 for the night (cheap compared to the £300+ prices of most centrally located hotels.) It is eight minutes walk from Back Bay station and is actually a really good location as you can walk anywhere from here. Boston Commons is only about a ten...

Great location, about 5 minutes from parking and a train station. Is also only 10-15 minutes from Boston Common. The staff were great, the hotel was clean and looked great. The rooms were nice and clean, great bathroom. However some of the utilities were extremely out dated and there was no ironing board. The bar below the hotel is great...

We visited this hotel 30th July to the 1st August 2016. It was recommended in the Lonely planet guide. The good: Decent location, clean room, reasonable (although not exactly cheap for a 2 star hotel) price. The bad: Noisy room: Be warned, if you are staying on the first floor (or second, as they call it in the U.S.) you...

Between the nice, clean room and the restaurant/bar downstairs, the Chandler Inn has a lot to offer to business travelers and others. We were able to have a business meeting in the restaurant one night and drinks at the bar another night. The staff was very friendly and helpful, printing a document for us and bringing an iron to my...

The hotel is in a great location, close to main city attractions. The only thing I didn't like is that there's no safety box in the room. The furniture in the room looks modern and everythng was clean. Service at the Trophy Room (the hotel's bar and restaurant) could be better but it is ok.

Staying in South End

Neighbourhood Profile
South End
Stroll down the beautiful brownstone lined streets while capturing views of Boston’s tallest buildings from a distance. Some of Boston’s best restaurants are scattered around this neighborhood. There are many gems to be found, from jazz clubs to classy bars and restaurants. It is also home to art galleries, interesting boutiques, artsy stores and SOWA open market during the summer months. The South End is a true find in the city, with a more residential feeling than Back Bay.
