We loved our two night stay here - I had asked for a quiet suite and we were hidden on the 12th floor in a corner room that was huge and very quiet! We needed to sleep and we did that easily. Great location and we walked at least six miles a day to get to museums etc but of...

The property is lovely, the housekeeping is flawless, and the service is truly extra-ordinary. And don't miss some of the best Indian food you'll ever eat - even through room service. Every detail is attended to, without ever feeling like people are hovering. Use the valet to check your bags and then move your car to the Common for less...

Classic Boston, enjoyed everything about the hotel. Glad to see that all the traditional elements of old Ritz remain. I do appreciate that the hotel is now dog friendly, very important !! Would definitely stay there again.

Boston revisit to old Ritz Carlton, was the Boston Hotel and still has some Ritz employees. Great location, excellent food and beverage. Just an iconic property. Great location to exercise, park right across the street.

I recently stayed at the Taj for business purposes. This is an "old school", elegant hotel, with impeccable service and incredible views. I had a suite with a fireplace, which made for an excellent after dinner meeting place for my co-workers. All in all, a first rate stay.

The location is awesome & convenient to everything. I highly recommend the Taj. The Cafe food and room service food was outstanding. The customer service is unmatched. I loved the Taj in San Francisco and now Boston. The staff is very attentive and helpful.

This hotel, The Taj Boston, the former Ritz Carlton, is still a very elegant property/hotel despite the fact that it could use some improvements - new carpeting, drapes and wall paper in places. I enjoyed a quick stay the the Taj Boston this past week. Arrived after a long day of travel and enjoyed the efficient check-in and the welcoming room with lights on for a friendly greeting. The fireside lounge was the perfect place to grab a quick bit to eat and watch a little football on a very cold January night....

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
