The hotel is in need or a total remodeling. I had a problem in my room with my wifi. Staff were very friendly and they changed my room. the staff made all the difference. the hotel itself looked very old.,

We had a room with 2 double beds so my husband and daughter could accompany me on this 2 day business trip - a professional meeting held at the hotel. Thus, we stayed at a discounted group rate (covered by my professional expense account - otherwise I would not have splurged on a hotel in this price range). Our room...

The location is perfection. The doorman had wonderful local recommendations . The amenities were average for the expectations. No late check out or early check in was inconvenient for travelers. Expensive

Good hotel with a great view of the city. Room was clean and spatious.Underground station just a minute walk from the hotel, but also very well placed, overlooking the park which is very nice to enjoy, but also on Newbury street with lots of smaller stores. The breakfast was the only disappointment.

The Taj is a luxury hotel in a great location in Boston, surrounded by high end shops and wonderful restaurants. They were very accommodating to me, even when I requested a room with a view after being placed in an internal room. They responded promptly and placed me in a corner room with views of two main streets!

Large room. Old amenities. Very dated from the bed to the bathroom. Just plain. There is no bathroom on the main floor. I would definitely look at other options prior to booking. Gym with tight quarters. Elevators dated. OK if just staying ne night.

We were originally booked with another hotel and did not realize it was in a rough part of town. We quickly searched for another hotel that could accommodate us. While we don't live so far away we did not want to keep driving back and forth. The Taj is located in a beautiful part of town with a parking garage...

Every moment of our stay at the Taj was 1st class, from the luxurious rooms to stellar service. Especially loved the spring water and towels waiting for you at the end of a morning run. We wouldn't stay anywhere else in Boston.

Really excellent service and impeccable rooms. Super comfortable, quiet, and restful. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The location next Boston Commons is ideal for first time visitors like us.

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
