Great value upscale boutique hotel directly across from the Public Garden and the Boston Common and within walking distance of the best shopping and restaurants in Boston. Top restaurant and a happening bar with fireplace. Clean and well-mannered luxury at an affordable price.

Very nice place with friendly service. Comfortable beds, even though the bathrooms are a bit too small for the quality of the hotel. It is cozy and comfortable. And the location is excellent for walking everywhere.

If there were 6 stars, I would list that for this hotel. This is my second time staying at The Taj Boston and both experiences were impeccable. I have stayed at other hotels with similar stature in Boston, and this hotel is by far the best in quality and class. My first stay was hosting a Bachelorette party for my... More

If you are looking for solid service in an amazing location, this is the hotel. Its right next to the park and on Newbury Street (5 minutes from theater district. We only paid around 170 a night and had a super king size bed with up to date modern ammenities.

After Thanksgiving I needed to get away for a night. It was delightful. Great location, wonderful views, courteous staff. the room though small was all I needed and the beds and pillows were comfortable. It was a perfect get away from chaos!

Rooms are old, tired and small. The service was fine. They told us that "breakfast was included" when it really wasn't. Dont like to get nickle and dimed. There are other newer hotels in Boston that are a far better value.

The hotel is ideally situated by the Boston Garden/Common. A short walk to Beacon Hill and Charles street, coffee shops, restaurants, shopping on Newbury street. Could not be a better place to stay in Boston! Ask for a room overlooking the Garden with a working fireplace! A treat like no other!!

Overlooking the Boston Common, this was originally the nation's first Ritz Carlton Hotel. It is stately and the service is excellent. The front desk upgraded us to a very special suite, and it was a memorable hotel experience - in the best possible way.

Great value for an incredible Executive Suite of over 800 Square Feet with a wood burning fireplace...and, a butler who makes a wonderful fire. The bar is gorgeous and the staff wonderful. Room service was perfect and had dinner parties in our suite. The fact that the hotel is pet friendly was an amazing bonus. The staff seemed to know... More

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
