The hotel is in a great location with downtown only a few minutes walk. The hotel itself is very basic. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the tiny hairdryer is surprisingly powerful. The corridor to the rooms is a little grubby but that's only a tiny thing when you take everything else into consideration.

We were told this hotel might not live up to our expectations - but on the contrary, everything was great. Given a complimentary upgrade to a Queen De Lx room. Staff extremely helpful and very pleasant. Cannot praise them highly enough. Would definitely return.

OK, let's get the good stuff taken care of first. That's the location. Really nice! Right next to the Symphony Hall, across the street from the huge temple and library for Christian Scientists. I recently paid over $320 a night for this hotel during a convention, and I was ashamed of myself. There's no reason for that kind of rate...

We visited Boston from Oct. 6-10, 2016 and stayed at the Midtown Hotel. We were looking for a reasonably priced hotel that was central and basically, just a place to crash. The Midtown Hotel fulfilled all of our expectations. It is close to two subway stops (Symphony and Prudential) so it was easy to buy a pass and hop on...

If you need handicap accessibility, this hotel is not for you. Need to walk two sets of steps to get to elevator. I asked three days for more wash clothes. Finally, on third day, they arrived. No restaurant on premises Not clean. Hair-ball on bathroom floor and paper on chair. Bathroom tiny and only room for one person.

Great location for a Sox game. Great free parking with a game day ticket. Room was a little musty smelling but the bed was sooooo comfortable! The price was much less than surrounding hotels. Would stay again for sure!

Air conditioning didn't work well. Could be cleaner. Great location close to symphony, two T line stops, decent restaurants, Prudential Mall, Copley Square, Back Bay Station, Nice staff. Stayed for two nights. Good overall value.

We booked two nights at the Midtown Hotel after having to leave our first hotel in the city after one night. Fortunately, it ticked all the right boxes. It is located conveniently between Prudential and Symphony trolley stations, the room was modern, spacious and clean, and the service was great. The only thing that let the hotel down was the...

The walls in the hotel were paper thin. Noise from televisions, showers and toilets could be heard at all hours. Guests were rowdy at all ours too! For $300 a night we expected a bit better quality. Not planning on staying again or suggesting this hotel to anyone!

Staying in Back Bay

Neighbourhood Profile
Back Bay
Wander around this quintessential neighborhood in the heart of Boston for high-end shops, restaurants, and the feeling of city bustle. Its most identifiable skyscrapers, the Prudential Center and John Hancock Tower, are highlights of the city skyline. Visit Newbury street to explore unique and trendy boutiques – as well as every other kind of store imaginable – all housed in beautiful brownstone buildings. In nice weather, restaurant patio seating is packed with Bostonians and tourists alike soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the food. Commonwealth Ave offers a beautiful stroll down residential tree-lined streets. Keep walking towards the Charles River and enjoy a beautiful view by the water. In warmer months, people run and bike on paths running along the esplanade, and sail and kayak on the Charles River. Boylston street, also full of shops, bars, and restaurants, is the finish line of the Boston Marathon. Head towards Copley Square and check out the Boston Public Library, which is particularly beautiful from the Dartmouth street entrance.
