I just attended a conference at the Boston Convention Center and this was a great location. It is 1.7 miles from the center. There is a Panera about 1/3 of the way and I picked up coffee and a bagel each day saving many $$. The inn is two blocks from Fanieul Hall which insures good dining and shopping. The... More

We were pleasantly surprised to find this hotel for such a resonable price, right next to Quincy Market. The hotel was easy to find and is right next to the subway that will take you to the airport (confusing buying tickets on the subway, but that is another story). We were delighted to find ourselves right next to Quincy Market,... More

The Harborside is a nice, smaller boutique hotel that is literally a few steps from the Aquarium Subway stop, no need to cab it from the Airport. The rooms are spacious, well appointed, and clean. As others have noted, if you get an interior room, they are very dimly lit and don't get any sunlight, but are really quiet at... More

Kitchy hotel 1 block from Faneuil Hall's stores, with lots of great restaurants, pubs and shops around..... also across the street from the water. Staff was great. My room was adorable, withe exposed bare brick wall, minimalist accessories. Then, at 8am LOUD hamerjack sound made walls shake. I called to see if it would stop soon, and they stopped for... More

My wife and I spent a weekend in Boston and stayed at the Harborside. It is near all the major downtown attractions so it is an ideal spot for a short trip. The room was comfortable and clean. We were on the 6th floor on the front of the building but there no street noise. The Harborside is somewhat offbeat... More

We were the lucky ones sailing on a cruiseship just in time for Hurricane Sandy to reroute us from Bermuda :( Because the ship was stuck in Boston (and they weren't sure for how long) we elected to get off there as soon as we were able to book airfare (originally from NY back to FL) Anyway, while waiting for... The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment of the Lobby area, although this appeared to not cause any issues over the 2 days I was there. The hotel, although comfortable and reasonably spacious, 'feels' like it is not sure whether it is trying to be a business focused hotel or 'boutique' style hotel. Bed was basically clean, however, sheets and bedspread... More

Perfectly located with the harbor on one side and downtown Boston on the other. Lots of sights within walking distance. The hop on tour busses stop right around the corner, the metro has a stop right outside the front door. The rooms are very spacious and very clean. Modern bathroom. Alamo/National have their office just a few blocks away so... More

This hotel is in a great location if walking around Boston isn't an issue for you! Just around the corner from some of the most special attractions in the city. It was a delight to stay somewhere that I didn't need a cab to get around and could enjoy the ambiance of the city and not worry about getting home.... More

We stayed here for two nights in late October 2012. The location is awesome, right next to Quincy Market and the Aquarium, and a T stop right outside the door. The guy at the desk, BRIAN, was most unfriendly and unhelpful and sarcastic...too bad. I'd fire him in a NY minute. The rooms are decidedly male-oriented, with dark wood, dim... More

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
The largest area of the city, Downtown is rich with historical and iconic sites in Boston. Stroll through one of Boston’s most famous green spaces, the Boston Public Gardens, check out and make way for duckling statues, picnic under a beautiful tree overlooking the pond, and walk over the iconic footbridge where, during summer time, you will catch a swan boat toting children and eager tourists through the pond. Have your camera ready to capture its peaceful beauty in the middle of a bustling city. Continue on through the Gardens and take in some open green space at the Boston Common, where you can spend time throwing a frisbee, sitting on a park bench, or, in the winter time, skating on the frog pond. Head north from the end of the Common to see the golden dome of the State House, and travel through government center to Quincy Market and Faneuil Hall, both a historic and popular destination worth a quick visit for a first time to Boston. Head to Long Wharf to visit the Aquarium, or catch a boat to Charlestown or even Cape Cod.
