At check-in, I was not offered any water or cookies and the staff did not give any details regarding restaurant, such as times they were serving, nor did they advise me of the F&B Credit for being a Diamond Member. When I checked out, I noticed I was charged twice for the same night. I called hotel to see if they could help me with this situation. Manager on duty was very, very rude and extremely defensive. I was only trying to explain the situation. I did not feel I should have had this treatment, especially from the manager. She did not even offer to look into it. It is too bad that management is so bad there because the hotel itself was not bad at all.
I can't say enough about the DoubleTree by Hilton Boston Bayside. It is the only hotel I stay at when visiting Boston. I've wanted to try others and I still may someday, but for now I stick to Boston Bayside. It's not a terribly long ride to South Station, about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic, and the staff is amazing. The most welcoming hotel, great cookies, love the bottled water, awesome staff... can't say enough good things about this hotel.
We stayed here on Monday before Thanksgiving. The hotel is on the UMASS campus and the area was very quiet since the students had gone home for the week. It is a bit out of the city but near the wonderful JFK memorial library. Service was great and breakfast ok (happy they had fresh fruit and vegetables)
We stayed at this hotel for a conference and wanted access to shuttle transportation. Not only did we get great rooms and shuttle service, but our driver Sammy was also an excellent tour guide. He also ensured we got to the airport on time! Bar tender and evening chefs also gave excellent service, beverages and food!
This hotel is pretty terrible! It only caters toward business people, so if you are a common traveler or on vacation don't expect to be comfortable here! On site parking is $19 and no street parking in the area. We were awaked at 8am by a staff member using their key card to open our door. No knock or verbal communication saying that it was anyone such as Housekeeping. Luckily we had the security latch set, otherwise they would have just walked right in while we were sleeping! This was so confusing since we had just read a sticker on the mirror in the bathroom that said there would be no daily housekeeping and that you would have to call to request it. An hour after both me and my wife finally got back to sleep, a four man crew pulled up right outside our window and started leaf blowing at 9am. If you know how 3 blowers all running at the same time sounds, you know that it's impossible to sleep through. The heater/AC was also switching on and off making a loud clicking noise all night long that was also disruptive. Everything is clearly old, dirty and neglected here, and they don't care to modernize or fix anything. (Check out the huge weird stain on the ceiling of our room) When I brought up these issues with the lady who seemed to be the manager at the front desk she just told me that people who stay there are usually up at 8am so it's fine for housekeeping to walk into our room unannounced at that time. She had nothing to say about the work crew outside our window at 9am. I argued that checkout is at 12 noon so why did they wake us up at 8 and she had no answer. She begrudgingly and rudely refunded us $30 and said thats all she can do. We expected way more for the price we paid to stay here. Terrible customer service and terrible stay! Spend the extra $50 to stay somewhere that actually cares about their guests experience!…
Room was very nice and comfortable. I was there to visit the JFK Presidential Museum, and this hotel was located very close to it. About a 15 minute walk which went through the UMass campus and had great views of Old Harbor Bay and also Harborwalk path.
Very nice hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. Room was spacious, beds and pillows were super comfy. Staff was friendly and helpful. There is a Starbucks and a little bar in the lobby. There is a walking trail around the bay. Parking was easy. I would definitely stay here again.
Good room size, nice pillows, water pressure and A/C and good cookies but the mattress was so hard, the accent chair was old as well the carpet. Also, we had an extra guess a bug flying all around the room. Due to the circumstances that we have to stay (bereavement) we weren't in the mood to talk to someone in the front desk. Other than that it was ok.
This is an absolutely no frills hotel. They gave us a warm cookie to welcome us. But apart from that there were no complimentary water bottles which is the least one expects. The window overlooked the roadside. No personalised touch from the front desk. It was very mechanical. The rooms were though as expected near n clean.
Our Hilton stay started on 10/12 to 10/14. Then we went on a 7 day cruise till 10/21. Then we returned and stayed till 10/23 on one reservation then an additional day on 2nd reservation. A total of 5 nights at your Hilton. Every area of your hotel from shuttle services to housekeeping, restaurant/Starbucks, front desk and general overall appearance was outstanding and stellar. It really represented the Hilton brand in a very positive and professional manner. Thank you for our outstanding stay and your commitment to the Hilton standards we look forward to.
