I have been coming to this pier and its rental cottages since 1955. Believe it or not the quality of accommodations and the ambiance have not changed in the last 50+ years. While the prices can be high, and reservations often need to be made six+ months in advance, you just can't beat the scenery and the accommodations.

We came to celebrate a special birthday. Cottage is lovely and well appointed. Nothing like living over the ocean for 5 days...best sleep ever because wave sound never shuts off! Sunset at the end of the pier spectacular...so worth the trip.

This was our 4th trip to PB and first time we were able to stay at Crystal Pier. There had been a cancellation the day I had called. I understand why people book 11 months ahead. We stayed in E, one bedroom with sofa bed in living room. There were just 2 of us so we had plenty of room....

My wife and I stayed here for 5 nights and it was awesome! We stayed in unit E witch I recommend staying in A-F for actual "private" patios away from the other guest. I gave this place 4 stars only because the cottages you stay in can have extreme makeovers to the kitchen bathroom and bedroom, but other then that...

The Crystal Pier cottages are set on a long pier that you can drive, walk or fish off of in Pacific Beach. They are a unique experience as you are literally over the surf. So nice to hear the rolling ocean and see the sun set. Cottages are neat and clean and hold 2-4 people with a bedroom, living area,...

This is a gorgeous spot along the San Diego coast. The rooms are clean, and well appointed. The bed was comfortable, quiet and a view of the Pacific Ocean. Highly recommend. The wait time is one year to book a room.

At Crystal Pier, you can't take your bicycle but the hotel offers free access to the end of the pier during the daytime for walking and fishing. Old wooden planks creek as you make your way to the end, which may have a Christmas tree in December! If you like fishing, a bait and tackle place offers rentals. Great views...

My husband and I splurged on a cute one bedroom cottage on the wharf....so happy we did. We happened to be there during a high surf warning. It was rainy and windy most of the time. It was amazing to watch the waves out our living room window and feel the wharf move with the waves. I am hooked and...

We had cottage # 6 which is almost halfway down. We wanted one over the water which this one is. The surf is actually pretty loud. I'm a very light sleeper and surf work me a few times a night, I would recommend staying more over the sand if you are a light sleeper. We didn't notice the cottage shaking...

There aren't too many places where you can sleep over the water. Fortunately, this is one of them. We made reservations six months in advance and were lucky to get the cottage we did, unit D. We couldn't have been happier. The unit itself was spacious, clean and comfortable. We loved leaving the windows open so we could hear the...
