SHABBOS FRIENDLY! Unable to open the room door or take the elevator during for religious reasons, the staff helped me to not break Shabbos. Hot water dispenser in the kitchen made a cup of tea possible (they provide dishes but it's easy bring your own paper cup/bowl, etc). Easy 2 block walk to Chabad Downtown! They provide lockers (and sell...

Cool hostel. Fun vibe. Awesome set up for travellers. Kitchen is a bonus and lots of activities. Make sure you're either very tired and have ear plugs or you ask for a room NOT on street side. We had a room and could hear every sneeze on the street. Staff were happy to help us move to a better room...

Thank you for the review! The Gaslamp is quiet lively and therefore can be noisy. If you stay with us again, please call ahead and we'll gladly reserve you in an interior room :-). Cheers, HI-San Diego Downtown

I was amazed at how clean and beautiful this hostel was. There were plenty of bathrooms. I came here for the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting in November and got to meet other neuroscientists in the common areas. It's only an 8-minute walk from the convention center and near Ralph's. My only concern was that the hostel's website says that...

I really love this hostal, is cheap, confy and super clean! <3 the staff is really really nice , they help you in everything they can. It`s near everything, really everything, (malls, supermarkets, drug stores, bars, restaurant, padres stadium, etc). I met really interesting people and make good friends. They give you a super complete breakfast, and if you want...

I went there with friends for a few days and hired two rooms, as soon as we got there we were greeted with an awesome vibe and people around us. There were cute swings for us to sit on and cool artwork to look at and also be sold on all the floors. I personally love Our private room with...

This place is just for sleeping only but my experience was terrible. On the same building , there was a pub with noisy aloud music all night till after midnight . Downtown location is not the advantages.Homelesses strolled around the area, sometimes did bizarre things. Do not favor a cheap accommodation, I recommend to choose hotel in hotel circle if...

Thank you for your candid review. Might I recommend our sister location in the quiet residential area of Point Loma.

I loved this hostel. The staff was great. The kitchen was great. The people were great. The rooms where great. The wifi was pretty good. It was clean and had an elevator. Also had a big selection of tour options or ideas on where to visit.

I stayed here for 3 nights and chose it for the central location. I was able to book a private double room with en suite bathroom. The room was basic but comfortable and clean and a decent size. There was no view but that was fine. The room also had a fridge and hair dryer. A kitchen and dining area...

I reserved weeks ahead, cancelled the first night with no problems. The price was the lowest I've paid in the U.S. in ANY location in years, a third what the lowest competitor charged. It's not "private." You may share a Spartan room upstairs with three other guests, making your own bunk bed with linens provided. There's an elevator. Though in...

Thank you for your review! We really appreciate the feedback. We do have rooms that are completely private similar to hotel rooms. I think there may have been some confusion and a dorm bed was booked. I'm glad to hear you had a great stay overall though. Visit us again soon!

A great hostel right in the centre of the Gaslamp district. Rooms are clean and modern and the shared facilities are quite spacious. The staff are fantastic too, with loads of knowledge on things to do!
