It is a very nice hotel if you look from the outside, because it is a 1820s style building. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready because they had had a wedding last night and the wedding decorations were in the floor. We returned an hour later, and the room was "ready", but the blankets on the bed were dirty....

We thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at the Cosmopolitan. Great place to absorb the early history of San Diego and California. Even though the bed was not as comfortable as I would have liked, the positives outweighed that one negative. We loved the quiet atmosphere and historic flavor of the hotel. Delia was a wonderful host as she prepared our...

We stumbled on this hotel on hotels.com and had a fantastic experience. The hotel was so charming and the bar was a wonderful place to spend a couple hours relaxing. Everything about the hotel was great. Our room was clean and the bathrooms are huge considering the size of the hotel.

Great location and staff. Good buffet breakfast included but slow WiFi and nowhere to hang clothes. You will have to get used to the city soundscape with the low drone of the freeway, Amtrak's loud horn and frequent noise of flights taking off from quite nearby. We still slept very well! It was refreshing to have no TV in the...

Highly recommended and absolutely lovely hotel in 99% WHITE neighborhood. You may be visited by ghosts as we were but that is the entire point, isn't it when time traveling back to 1827. ENJOY! Excellent parking, safe hotel and grounds, restaurants and souvenir shops near by. Access to freeways near by.

Stayed here one night to celebrate my birthday. I was underwhelmed. Cons: No place to hang clothes. There are some hooks but not a single clothes hanger. I was given a parking permit but no parking was available in the evening. My main complaint is the cleanliness: Dirty windowsills, looks like it hasn't been cleaned in years Same issue with...

I am really surprised by all of the amazing reviews. We booked this hotel for four nights. The management was very helpful and polite. Our room was a decent size and I did love the period feel that they had maintained. The biggest problem was the fact we didn't get very good sleep here. The bed wasn't as hard as...

My wife and I live in San Diego and took a stacation at the Cosmopolitan. The staff and bartenders are very friendly and the room we stayed in (Pine Tub Suite) was very well restored and comfortable. There are no TVs in the rooms, but there is wifi, so it's nice to be taken back to an older time. We...

This is a great place to stay and get away from it all!!! They keep the hotel in the old style that it is, so don't expect a TV, radio, fridge or phone!!! They did not have them in the 1890's!!! It was a nice quite stay and we will be back. Right in the middle of Old Town we...
