I am glad to be a Kimpton Karma Tier 2 member and glad I had a staycation here. The staff was welcoming and very helpful. We were upgraded to a suite and while we waited for the room George Williams offered my wife and I a glass of wine. This was a nice gesture that I really appreciate. When we... More

I've stayed in a few Kimpton's so arrived with some expectations for a four night stay. The good? Location, walk to the Gas Lamp and waterfront area. The room was well stocked and of good proportions with a pleasant outlook. Facilities like the pool and gym were reasonable. Value was good. The bad? A very confused interior design. I'm not... I emailed ahead asking for a walk in shower as my husband had knee surgery. They gave us a beautiful suite overlooking the pool. We loved the room, which had a private outdoor sitting area. The people were all very friendly, helpful and genuinely nice 100% of the time. Good selection in the in room bar/snack area. Fun happy hour... More

Good, quiet room on the 10th floor, they remembered we don't like to be near the lift (elevator, if you must). Terrific staff - friendly and efficient. The Happy Hour is fun and we like the pool on the 4th floor. We have stayed there several times before and look forward to returning.

Great location right on the Monster Bash! Got a free upgrade to a killer suite fully stocked with booze and snacks. It was like a nightclub in our room and we LOVED it! We were fully warned and knew it would be over by midnight so "Party On Garth!" Really awesome upstairs pool bar! Over 21 at 9pm. Firepits and... More

This place always has people, but is never over crowded. The bar service is good and the drinks are always good as well. It's a perfect place for couples to beat the crown and enjoy a good atmosphere!

The rooms were very spacious and well appointed. This boutique hotel has amazing rates (lower than the convention hotel) with a lot more character. I've been coming to San Diego for a few years and always staying at the Kimpton's in the region. I find the service spectacular and the perks fun. (free bikes / happy hours / mini bar... More

Last year we stayed in an airbnb that was basically a dorm room. This year we did it right. The location is fantastic if you want to be downtown. The rooms are stylish and comfy. I wish we had more time to enjoy the rooftop pool area. It's beautiful. Had a great breakfast sandwich at the restaurant and the morning... More

Really enjoyed staying here. Staff were very helpful. Loved the rooftop pool. Great ambiance, professional staff and centrally located in downtown San Diego-I was there on a business trip. Everything I needed to do was within walking distance. Rooms were expensive (over $250 per night), drinks at the bar were around $12, food in restaurant was grossly over-priced. Internet was intermittent on the 10th floor, which made it hard to work from... More
