Next to the Horton Plaza, and walking distance from gaslamp and little italy restaurants, The Sofia is a good choice for a downtown stay. The beds are firm which I like, some might consider them hard. Wifi seemed decent.

I traveled alone to San Diego for the first time, and I'm so glad I picked this hotel. It was clean, nice staff, GREAT location. I would definitely stay again. Great value for the price. It is close to Downtown, Little Italy, all the great places to visit ad a tourist. I loved it.

We stayed here 3 nights before having to move to the Hilton San Diego Bayfront for a conference. It was less than half the price (even with the preferred group rate at the Hilton) and 10x the hotel. The room was small but lovely, the bed was incredible comfortable, with a small fridge and microwave. the staff was incredibly friendly...

Stayed at the Sofia for 3 nights. Arrived early and just wanted to dump our luggage but front desk checked us at 1pm which was great. Staff were friendly enough and gave us a map of the area. We had a small room as other reviews have mentioned (the bathroom has a sliding door as a normal door wouldn't open)....

Very pretty hotel on outside. 36.00 valet parking per day but you can take your car in/out. Room was small and nothing special and review reflects that. Centrally located. Not sure how safe area is at night - would chk w front desk. Nice lobby area. Gym open 24hrs and they offer walking tour on weekends and yoga. Decent restaurant...

A cool little hotel for a couple or single traveler, rooms were small. Location is great, parking expensive. I like that it was free wifi and included a couple waters per day. Overlooked a parking lot. Staff was great and welcoming.

Good free wifi, nice staff, solid little gym with well maintained relatively new equipment. Super easy access from airport (bus 992 stops 1 block away). Easy walk into gaslamp. Only gripe is that street noise surprisingly loud (or was for me on the 4th floor in a corner room). It's a historic property, so I'm guessing they couldn't do double...

Just a couples getaway from it all... This facility is in a great location and walking distance from Harbor Drive, USS Midway Museum, the Horton Plaza and many restaurants. The Staff was very friendly and helpful and the in house restaurant/bar was wonderful. The decorations are very stylish and you gotta love the statue outside however the poor guy kept...

Staff was great, very helpful and friendly. Had a drink in the bar with a very friendly bartender. My husband ordered the room with 2 double beds??? (I know right.) Very tight room for 3 people. The sheets were part of duvet set and he was tangled up all night. Fire alarm went off at 5:30 in the morning. Be...

Nice room. Can't comment on restaurant as it was closed for a private party so had to eat out which was disappointing as a guest and the menu was not up to much to be fair. Great staff. Great location but car parking expensive at $36 a night, they have you by the nuts as nowhere else to park.
