The OpenEmbedded Developer Team held a one day meeting at the Catamaran. Everyone loved the atmosphere and the friendly staff at the hotel. This is not your typical conference hotel. Everything is personal. Stephanie Barker did an outstanding job working with us although it was on short notice. Venue, food and service were top notch. Everybody loved it. The Wifi...

The staff was amazing! They were so friendly and always ready to help. They called us when the room was ready earlier than anticipated, held our luggage, and asked us what was needed even before we thought of it. The resort was very pretty. Bathrooms were a little outdated but exterior and grounds were beautiful. We had fun on the...

A slightly different review than normal, as I am a Wedding DJ that works often at this venue and more a 'behind the scenes' look. The staff are always very professional and make sure that every wedding is run Effortlessly and Efficiently. I often work with Dave Hopper on the Banquet Staff and he is amazing. I have done at...

My husband and I went to the Oceana Coastal Kitchen for our anniversary and we had the best time. We were seated at a table outside, overlooking the beach, a light breeze to our faces and live acoustic music playing in the background. We had such a wonderful evening. The food and drinks were delicious and our server John L...

We were originally put in a garden room this was ok, but quite dark and difficult to access. After 1 night we were moved to the 7th floor in the tower. The rooms were large with a kitchen very light and airy with amazing views accross mission bay The staff were very helpful particularly the concierge

We've stayed at Catamaran Resort from 4/5-4/7. The room 154 was TERRIBLE. First off, the night lamps were not working. We've called the Front desk 3 times in 2hrs. Their responses were "we are sending somebody right now"...and nobody has ever come to fix them. After the 3rd calls, they have told us that nobody's coming until tomorrow. We had...

A nice hotel, with beautiful grounds in a great location. Walking distance to the beach, restaurants and shops. The WiFi worked well, the beds were comfortable and the shower hot. The pool was lovely. I would definitely stay here again.

This location can't be beat. We stayed in a studio on the 2nd floor of the tower and mostly cooked in. We have small children, so eating out is hard and expensive! We went to the Trader Joes within a couple of miles and used the heck out of the kitchenette. Appreciated the fact as a mom that everyday, housekeeping...

We had a great time. The hotel could use some updates. The staff was great. Lauren at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The view in the tower is excellent. Bathrooms could use more storage for toiletries. It is a very family oriented resort.

The staff (Catering, Sales, etc.) at the Catamaran Resort Hotel & Spa were exceptional for our annual conference. They made sure all of our needs were met and the three-day conference went along smoothly without any hiccups. The restaurants, grounds, and not to mention view at the hotel was amazing - we would definitely recommend!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
One of the few resorts on Mission Bay to not charge a resort fee! The Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa is a paradisiacal destination located on the shores of Mission Bay and mere steps from San Diego’s famous Pacific Beach. With features including lush tropical gardens and private beach, this Polynesian-themed hotel offers an ideal blend of fun and tranquility all year-round. Established in 1958, the Catamaran is a paradise featuring more than 1,000 varieties of exotic plants and animals from around the world. Palm trees, bamboo, waterfalls and koi ponds appeal to the senses, while playful parrots delight and intrigue guests. The Catamaran’s architecture, reminiscent of the traditional Colonial Hawaiian style, boasts accents including totem poles handcrafted in Bali, art pieces such as tapa cloth from Vanuatu and a beautiful front desk constructed of Black Koa wood imported directly from Tahiti. At the Catamaran, guests are checked into one of 310 guest rooms, studios or suites, each with a private balcony or patio that opens to stunning views of Mission Bay, the Pacific Beach neighborhood and coastline, or the hotel’s lush tropical gardens. All guests are provided a full range of amenities including complimentary Wi-Fi and 24-hour room service. On-site dining options include Oceana Coastal Kitchen, rated by Zagat as one of San Diego’s most anticipated restaurants of 2015 and featuring chef-driven surf and turf dishes. Next door to this signature restaurant is Moray’s, where guests can sip on a signature Moray’s Mai Tai, savor a local craft beer and enjoy daily happy hour specials. Both venues feature a blend of indoor and patio spaces, the latter lined with tiki torches, fire pit tables and lush palms. Guests may also choose to grab a bite poolside at the Catamaran’s full bar and grill which serves up barbecue favorites during the spring and summer months. Another standout summer special is the Catamaran’s signature luaus, featuring live performers that guide guests through the cultures of the South Pacific as they enjoy a Hawaiian buffet. Those who prefer to spend their time on the water can opt for a cruise on the Bahia Belle, a replica of an 1860s-era sternwheeler that tours around Mission Bay. Step back in time and enjoy a colorful sunset from the top deck, or kick up your heels as the vessel becomes a vibrant nightlife destination with live entertainment and a full-service bar. The Catamaran Spa—the only beachfront spa in San Diego—offers a South Pacific-inspired menu of treatments including massages, facials, body wraps, hydrotherapy treatments and more—carried out with all-natural marine and botanical elements. Additional wellness amenities include an outdoor pool and hot tub, beach cabanas, an open air fitness center, seasonal outdoor yoga classes and more. Further vacation activities include rental paddleboards, sailboats, kayaks, surfboards, bicycles and Segways. The Catamaran is also located within the beach towns Mission Beach and Pacific Beach, where guests can stroll the boardwalk or the iconic Crystal Pier, play at the beach or experience a variety of cafes and boutiques. The resort is also within 10 miles of major San Diego attractions such as SeaWorld, the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, Downtown’s Gaslamp District and the San Diego International Airport. ... more   less
