It's not a 5 star hotel, but deserves 4 stars for being clean, and inexpensive. The pool and hot tub are great. The bed was firm, but that's how I like it. It's located just minutes from everything. Used Uber to go downtown at night and never paid more than $10 for the ride. Highly recommend this place for the...

Cool retro '50s decor, friendly staff, and nice amenities such as washcloths folded in fan shapes and tucked into hand towel "baskets," a Christmas wrapping paper station for guests to wrap their gifts, and a guest laundry. Room and bath were clean, mattress was firm, and there were plenty of pillows, blankets, and towels. We stayed there for 4 nights...

Despite the ample rain we have been having in San Diego, California still has tighter restrictions for commercial plumbing and this may account for the lower water pressure in your room. Other than that, we are happy you enjoyed your stay and shared your holidays with us. Thank you for remembering so many of our team by name. And thank...

My husband and I stayed here for two nights during the Christmas weekend. We got amazing rates through trip advisor and what a great value! The property is an older style motel but extremely well maintained. The front desk was very kind and helpful. There are two restaurants on site, we ate at both and were very satisfied with both...

Thank you for spending the Holidays at Kings Inn. It is great that you were able to enjoy both the Waffle Spot and Amigo Spot during your stay as well as the hot tub. We appreciate your kind comments and wish you a happy new year.

I had reservations for two nights Dec 20 to 22nd with a prepaid 1st night. I had some ATM trouble for the reservation. Thanks to desk clerk Jesse and sweet assistant manager Ana who allowed me to use cash for the second night and let out of town family use their credit card for room deposit. Thanks for their understanding...

My husband and I have stayed at Kings Inn three times and the 4-star rating reflects an overall review. We love Mid-Century Modern architecture and this gem retains its unique architectural characteristics. Parking is free and the lot spans throughout the spacious property. Tall palm trees, turquoise/white umbrellas and lounge chairs surround a classic kidney-shaped swimming pool. We especially appreciate...

Kings Inn has indeed embraced its Mid Century birth and we were given a green light to bring as much of the nostalgia of a 1960's motor court inn back to life in our remodel over the past few years. Thank you for your appreciation of our aesthetic that surpasses the everyday expectations for lodging. And thank you for sharing...

The room was clean and quiet and comfortable. It was odd to open the door and find myself at the bathroom sink, but not a problem. Our window faced the back instead of the parking lot, so our view was green foliage and pleasant. Absolutely every single employee we encountered was friendly, helpful and nice. Big applause for that.

Your room is one of eight where the original architect decided to be quirky and place the bathroom at the entrance. In most rooms, the bathroom is at the far end of the room. We really do not know why he designed these rooms randomly around the hotel. Despite the odd configuration, most guest still find them comfortable and many...

The Kings Inn has it all: a central location, clean and quiet rooms, friendly and helpful staff, two restaurants on the premises, and a pool and hot tub. We had a great time in San Diego and were perfectly comfortable at the Kings Inn.

We regret that you were not pleased with the water pressure in your shower. Upon reading we checked the room for the pressure and realize that your room has a low flow showerhead that was mandated by the state of California during the height of the drought. Though it does not offer a massaging power jet spray, it is part...

The room was large, clean, very comfortable. Close to beach (found sand dollars). Great service at both the lobby and restaurant. The waffles were very good. Try the banana nut and the pecan mini waffles. Easy to find on hotel circle drive. I was very surprised at the quality since it was the least expensive hotel, definitely staying there again.
