I really don't know where to begin.... how very disappointing. My husband had a conference at this hotel and we came along. This hotel is showing its age. During our stay, I found maintenance to be lacking. The hotel is dirty, from limes in the...More
Stayed here shortly before a conference in San Diego to relax for the week-end. Was not disappointed. Hotel is 90 seconds (!!) from the airport. Airport shuttle was great (they noted our SPG Platinum status!) and check-in was awesome and we were upgraded to a...More
This is a slightly upscale hotel with a very nice pool and excellent fitness facilities, just a 5-minute shuttle ride from the airport; walking is not possible because there is no pedestrian access on airport roadways. Reasons for the low ratings are that my room...More
We were on the 9th floor, with a view of the naval station. We watched the helicopters flying by from our balcony, and just across the road on Wednesday night, there was a sailboat race on the bay, which was just beautiful.

The Bay Tower faces the bay and overlooks the northern tip of Coronado Island. The rear of the hotel overlooks the marina (boat docks, etc.). The Marina Tower faces east. If you have an eastern facing room, you'll have a marina view along with a nice view of downtown San Diego and on most days, a view of the mountains in the distance. The rear is pretty much all marina.
I didn't stay at the Bay Tower, but I'd imagine the view of the bay and Coronado are really nice. I actually loved the Marina Tower view though because if you step out into your balcony, you get downtown, mountains and a little of the bay and Coronado. A little of everything. Try to get a room in a higher floor.

During the conference I attended in March, the hotel charged $35 a day to park. The airport charges $11. Some of the people staying for the week long conference moved their cars to airport parking because the shuttle is FREE to and from the airport from the Sheraton. If you aren't using your car every single day...do the math.
