My wife and I had a wonderful experience at the Roanoke Island Inn. The Inn is located in a beautiful location and downtown Manteo is only a few minutes walk away. We really enjoyed the casual, relaxed and "be who you are" atmosphere. Pam, the Innkeeper was wonderful. This was definitely the best B&B experience we ever had.
This is a gem of an Inn. A beautiful Inn in a wonderful setting. The room was comfortable, the snacks were appreciated. The breakfast was good, with fresh pastries, muffins, boiled eggs etc... Everyone that we encountered was very friendly. I recommend this Inn for a peaceful get-away.
The entire Inn is warm, friendly, elegant with detail to the history of the community, with first class clean rooms, great reception meet and greet center lounge and library. Located in walking distance of shops, restaurants, entertainment, waterfront, boats and community activity.
We loved our two days stay at the Roanoke Island Inn. The view from the patio is pretty good. Since off peak, most of the place was free, so we enjoyed a good privacy. Rooms were clean. Breakfast was simple, like muffins and creal etc. Pam is wonderful host, she even allowed us check-in earlier. There are very few shops and restaurants within walking distance, but a 15 mns drive to most of the outerbanks is not that bad either. Overall a good place to stay and relax.
We loved everything about our stay at Roanoke Island Inn. Situated right on the harbor near the lighthouse and close to shops and restaurants in the small downtown district of Manteo, this property checks all the boxes. Rooms are clean and well-appointed. Not 5 Star luxury, but very comfortable with OBX charm. The common area for dining and hanging out has an old-century feel with books, furniture, and decor that hearken back to a different time in the Outer Banks. Breakfast was serve-yourself with a nice selection of breads, muffins, rolls, yogurt, cereal, drinks, etc. Delicious pastries! Overall you'll enjoy a feeling of privacy at the Inn while also being close to the local attractions. We would definitely stay here as a launching spot for a trip to the Outer Banks.
My wife and I enjoyed the whole experience. This place was quiet and elegant, with very clean rooms, beautiful grounds, and a warm and friendly staff. It was convenient to restaurants, pristine ocean beaches, a marsh nature preserve, and several national wildlife refuges. The kitchen was stocked nicely with snacks, drinks, and fresh coffee. The reading room had comfortable chairs, board games, and lots of books, including history of the area stretching back to the late 1500s. My wife loved the unique ceiling mural in the reading room. Our favorite part was being able to walk out the door, directly onto a scenic waterfront boardwalk that connected us to the Manteo restaurants, the Festival Park boardwalk, and other boardwalks to nearby boat docks. This was our second trip to the island this year. We are finding more to see and do there than we expected, and we really liked this Inn.…
Here's what I love about the Roanoke Island Inn: Everything! It's a cozy coastal lodge with the convenience of a modern hotel -- the perfect "choose your own adventure" accommodation. Pam is a total treasure and will meet you where you're at, without any pretense or grandeur. Unless you want that, in which case Pam will make it happen. Because that's the kind of host she is. Okay, enough words! Go, and have fun!
Our first trip post-covid: a family wedding in Kitty Hawk! Of course we chose to return to the Roanoke Island Inn--our choice for lodging in OBX--and it didn't disappoint. We were warmly greeted and immediately felt right at home. Our room was freshly painted and so bright. Loved the morning view over the marshes from the open air second-floor porch and the afternoon view of the Inn over the marsh walkway. My husband used the Inn bikes to tool around Manteo, and we enjoyed morning walks around the beautiful downtown, just a casual stroll from the Inn. The town was hosting a First Friday festival, so the town area was hopping! The Roanoke Island Inn is our favorite place to stay in OBX!
We visited Roanoke Island Inn this past August and we had a wonderful time! The inn is beautiful, the grounds are gorgeous and the innkeepers are absolutely lovely! it’s so easy to relax and just hang out with family. We stayed in Dot’s Cottage and enjoyed eating dinner outside on the porch after buying the freshest seafood from a nearby beach. And we are amazing figs from trees on the property. We could easily walk to the beautiful town of Manteo, and enjoyed delicious meals, coffee and ice cream. Next year we plan to rent kayaks too! I would recommend this spot to anyone at anytime of year!! 100 stars!!✨
We stayed three nights at the Roanoke Island Inn. In addition to the great location and charming rooms, what amazed us the most was how friendly everyone was. The Manager Pam treated us like family and so did the other guests. Everyone introduced themselves and we had a wonderful time meeting and conversing. Our stay was warm, friendly and very comfortable. Truly a unique experience. We will definitely stay there again when we come back to the OBX.
