Great (tiny) hotel with an address that is easy to remember. The room was extremely small, but modern, new, and comfy. There was a little noise from the street but that is to be expected. Located near plenty of pubs, restaurants, and a whole foods, I would stay here again to explore the city. The hotel comes with a continental...

Stayed here on a quick trip into the city December 2011. The price was amazing, for what you get. The rooms are comfortable, modern, with that "design" feel. The rooms are very clean, and the bath amenities nice. The hotel opened in 2007, so things still work. And the location is great, close to Soho, and with the F train...

I stayed here in March 2011 having previously stayed down the street at the Gem - Soho in 2010. I was torn as to which hotel to stay in, as with the time before, I wanted to stay on East Houston Street and it was just a case as to which was cheaper at the time plus the Trip Advisor...

A great small hotel in historic building. The rooms are small and the street is noisy....but who cares, it's NYC. Basically, in NYC, space is at a premium and everything is small & expensive, and everything is sort of dirty and crowded...but that's New York. So, if you don't want to stay in a small hotel room, and want everything...

Stayed for my second time this year. No complaints about this place at all. Great location, close to everything, very clean, very well priced for New York. Amazing rooftop terrace. Sure, the rooms are small, but who cares? It's New York! If you are on a budget, this is the best place. Free breakfast is an added bonus. Great coffee,...

With some small and easy fixes, along with some basic maintenance, this hotel could be quite nice despite the impossibly small size of the rooms. There is essentially no closet or cupboard space—some attractive wall hooks for hanging coats, clothing, etc., would make a huge difference. A light over the mirror would provide some brightening for what is otherwise dark....

Hotel East Houston is yet another great choice in New York City. It is located in Lower Manhattan (Lower East Side), in close proximity to Broadway street = shopping district. The subway station is right around the corner and a huge grocery store about a block away. It takes less than 10 minutes to travel both ways, to financial district...

Overall the hotel is fine except for the traffic noises which were too much until 3am in the morning... I think it has something to do with the lane closure outside so check carefully unless you can sleep with some ear plugs.

I have tried a lot of different boutique hotels in New York, usually downtown, and have never been disappointed... until now. The East Houston hotel already looks dated, very loud (both from the traffic outside and the out-of-control ventilation system in the hotel which makes it feel like you're sleeping in a construction site). The "complimentary breakfast" is a joke,...
