I want to start off by saying that this is a really beautiful, luxury hotel. My excitement for staying here was IMMEDIATELY ruined upon arriving to the front desk to check in. I came for a weekend with my best friend, so both of our names were put on the reservation since I was arriving a few hours before her....

Coming back to you.... We started going here in 2001, and we will never stop. The place is like home. In the middle of Soho, not to be mistaken for being in Soho like the Trump Soho, even if having quite nice rooms, it is not Soho... The Mercer is at the dead center of Soho. Service is excellent, the...

Travellers beware: This is a 100% smoking hotel. We were not advised during check-in, nor was it stated on its website (such a dishonest practice, had we known this was a smoking hotel, we would not even consider it) Room smelled of stale cigarette smoke and had to request for the room to be ionized. Pros: - Central Soho location...

First the good, an iconic hotel in a fantastic Soho location. Room (Mercer Deluxe) was large and spacious for NYC and the staff were attentive and professional. Now for the BIG issue. Upon checking in the room smelled a little off however it was hard to discern as a scented candle was lit when we entered. After extinguishing the candle,...

Great front desk staff. The hotel is still chic and the restaurant is always a treat. Good location. The lobby is a fun hang out for drinks with friends and great people watching. The rooms are nice with lots of extra room.

The Mercer Hotel is the best hotel in New York. Each time I check in it's a delight and each time I check out I am sad. Every detail about this special property in the heart of SoHo has been considered, but let me boil it down for you. The staff are the most professional, helpful and friendly people you'll...

My husband and I stayed at the Mercer in April having heard it was the best hotel to stay in NYC! When we arrived we were shown to our room which we have to say was beautiful, the bathroom products also were lovely. What lets this hotel down is the staff, considering the room rate is on par with The...

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
