I stayed at the NYC lower east side location with 2 friends as we were passing through Manhattan. When we arrived to our room there was an obvious smoke smell. After speaking with hotel employees we were told there were no additional rooms in the hotel and the options presented were a discount on the room rate and to “ionize” but we would have to leave the room for 45 minutes while this procedure was done. Ultimately the discount given on the room was only $31. We were also surprised to find there was a night club on the same floor where our room was located. The hotel website does not mention there being a night club in hotel. The music coming from the night club could be heard in our room until well after 1:30 AM making it impossible to sleep. Considering that this hotel is marketed as a “luxury” hotel I am quite very disappointed. I would not recommend this hotel unless you don’t mind the smell of cigarette smoke and sleeping next to a night club.…
Everything was super clean and they accommodated all of our needs. Shoutout to the elevator man Jimmy Romero, he was a standout worker at the hotel. Always super nice and professional! The hotel is also in a really cool location.
I have been at this hotel for 8 hours. The computer froze at check-in and we had to leave our bags. We tried to call to get through while we were out to see if we could check into our room, no one picked up-operator, reservation and guest services-from their main number. We paid for suite (3 people) and had to ask them to make up bed, we arrived back at 10:00 pm and they had left the sheets on the sofa bed (which by the way is thin and lumpy). Went out to the bar terrace for a drink and the place was holding a private party. This place is a wreck.
We travelled to NYC for a bachelorette and Make Believe was a fun scene for a Saturday night party. Chelsea at the door was extremely accommodating and friendly to our walk-in group. The club had a fun vibe and great views. Poppa ran the rooftop and was so welcoming! The DJ and music was more dance/EDM than pop anthems but we still had fun. Conrad in the elevator was amazing and kept the party going as we departed. Thank you Chelsea, Poppa and Conrad!
We were hoping for a nice, restful staycation. But we got a room that was too loud and too dirty to sleep in -- so we ended up going home to sleep. We came back to use the pool. But despite there being a supposed rule against allowing dogs in the pool, guests had their dogs in the pool. Alerted management, they did nothing. Alerted lifeguard, who had already seen it, and his attitude was like, "Well, I'm not sure it's against hotel policy..." Asked him to double check on that, and he didn't want to be bothered with it. He would have preferred to do nothing -- and allow an untrained puppy dog to relieve itself in the pool.
