This was a first stay at this hotel but certainly wont be our last. All the staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Our room was large and spacious very clean and modern. Breakfast was plentiful and the homemade granola was fab. I would recommend this hotel to everyone. The one thing I would say was that there...

it is a big BUT, the hotel is in the urgent need of an update. I stayed with a friend who loved 2 years ago, but noticed how the hotel has wasted two years in keep the facilities up to date. YES, location are great, room space is generous for NYC standards, but other than that, you want to leave...

Excellent staff, very pro-active. Particular kudos to Todd at Front Desk who made my 3 night stay comfortable and welcoming. Only note that bathrooms are very small., showers only. Enjoyed breakfast and wine at 6:00pm in Reverse Lounge

I stay at a lot of boutique hotels in N.Y Most are in older buildings and have a lot of people coming through -- so I understand things don't look sparkly new. But I was a bit disappointed in just how dark and dingy this hotel felt. Rugs and upholistry were a bit too worn and stained. There was a...

At the very first beginning the disappointment already started. The hotel does not look like the pictures on the internet. The pictures show a shiny lobby. The reality shows a dirty carpet. Then we went up to the room and and saw a very tiny bathroom. It is not possible to stand with 2 persons in the bathroom at the...

1. Personnel relation to complaints. I had a hole in a bed at a headboard. And more dirty towels, in not washed ink, foundation. I showed them a photo, brought towels. But everything that I hearing "I'm sorry about that...". Any offer to compensate moral damage or at least a dinner at restaurant of hotel, a champagne bottle as a...

I would definitely recommend this hotel. It was very clean and staff were very welcoming and willing to answer any questions we had or make suggestions for things we might be interested in. It is within walking distance to a lot of tourist attractions and close to the subway for any further away.

Really good location for a first time trip to NYC - very handy to both grand central station and times square. Decor, whilst modern, is a little tired. Bedside lamps did not work but it wasn't a big issue as we were hardly ever in the room. Bar very quiet but cool.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
From the moment it opened its doors on Madison Avenue in New York City, Morgans startled the world with a convention-shattering attitude and distinctive design sensibility, concocted by legendary designer Andree Putman. Again in 2008, Morgans unveiled Andree Putman's powerful reinterpretation of the first "boutique hotel" that propels Morgans' spirit forward without changing its unique character. Other features include a state of the art fitness center. Conveniently located in midtown Manhattan, Morgans is just steps to Grand Central Station, Macy's Herald Square, and The Morgan Library Museum. Morgans offers complimentary Continental breakfast and wireless internet access to every hotel guest. ... more   less
