Booked for Monday night to be close to work during the impending nor'easter and had a very pleasant stay. The best thing about the Standard was the staff; checked in by wonderfully efficient manager on duty. Had dinner at their restaurant (reviewed separately) and again, our server was very sweet and attentive - really charming. Ordered room service breakfast and...

Than you so much for the kind review. We think our team here is what makes us stand out from the others. I am pretty sure you are referring to Percy in Room Service. I will make sure to pass along the compliment. We look forward to welcoming you back again soon! Troy Pade General Manager

This was our first stay at any Standard. The staff was very nice, the hotel is very hip and trendy and has a cool cafe and a restaurant. If you are visiting for business or pleasure in this area its a nice place to stay.

I don't typically love trendy hotels, I prefer function or funky design features. This hotel certainly had some funky design features from big pink lip shaped pillows to a big red light for the room. (why???) Outside of the trendy design features, the hotel was still functional and comfortable. The staff was really friendly and i felt like they were...

The hotel was sophisticated but friendly. It made me feel sophisticated and trendy while I stayed there! The staff at the front desk was especially helpful, they were never to busy to address any questions I had.

I've stayed at this property plenty of times but never got to experience it the way I did on my last trip. The room/view is always amazing depending on what category you pick and the staff is exceptional. From the wonderful front desk team (Michaela, Gio, Matt, Barrington, Jordan & Will) to the funky cafe servers (Shannon & Ashley) I...

I love trendy hotels. It's part of my "thing". So when I needed a quick stay in NYC, The Standard LES was suggested to me by a girlfriend who works at the DTLA location. I only stayed 1 night, but in that 1 night stay I was not only room upgraded by a very helpful front desk girl (Colleen, if...

Every room I've had as been gorgeous, immaculately clean, super comfy bed, gorgeous views. The location is really convenient and close to other amenities. I...

I loved this hotel. The design was amazing and my room, even if quite small was super comfy. You can see into the shower from the bed, to me that felt erotic. The breakfast was pricy but amazing, I never needed lunch after that.

We found this Hotel through Hotel Tonight app. We wound up in a $400 room for $175 and was very pleased. Room was a bit small but that is common in NYC. Tried to get into the Boom Boom Room upstairs but without being on a list, they wouldn't even consider it :( Other than that, great location, great views,...

Staying in East Village

Neighbourhood Profile
East Village
There’s still an independent vibe to the East Village, which offers plenty of unique small businesses catering to longtime New Yorkers and area college students alike. The East Village retains a bit of the old-time neighbourhood feel that you can still experience today thanks to a mix of locally-owned shops, cozy restaurants, and lively bars. The scale of the residential blocks makes this a wonderful place to wander up and down the streets searching for the newest hip spot, or an old-school favorite. In the center of the neighbourhood, Tompkins Square Park serves as a gathering point for the New Yorkers that call the East Village home. The people-watching here is hard to beat.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Located off Cooper Square in one of New York's most vibrant, artistic neighborhoods, The Standard, East Village is cozy, charming, and eccentric in equal measure-very much in the spirit of its surroundings. You enter the 21-story tower through an original tenement-style building before ascending to unparalleled views of Manhattan. There's a quiet, calm garden tucked away at street level, Michelin-starred chef John Fraser's widely acclaimed Narcissa, and the bustling, street-side Café Standard, which hums from morning until late night. ... more   less
