I was staying for the weekend of September 16-18. Hurricane Fiona hit PR and I had to stay 2 more days. Luckily Ismael from the front desk helped me extending my stay. He was great and all the staff in the hotel was very nice and friendly. I would stay here again no doubt.

Hotel's Favourite
I was travelling with my 20 year old daughter. We arrived at the hotel early and my only intention was to drop my bags off but when I said I had a reservation the very kind clerk looked me up and checked me in. I really wish I had her name to pass along to management. When she asked my daugther if it was her first time in NYC, she replied YES! and the woman said I'll give you a front facing room for a better view! Then she ensured we had a wifi password as she has a daughter and knows that that age group loves their wifi! All the hotel staff were very friendly and seemed genuine. The room had a king bed, nice sized walk in shower, fridge and keurig. It was very clean and modern. I don't believe my room was cleaned during my stay but it didn't require it....except perhaps emptying the recycling would be have been helpful.

We arrived at the hotel around 2pm in the afternoon after a long journey to get there and were told that there were rooms ready but they wouldn't let us in without paying an extra $50 as we were early. When we did get into our room it was tiny and was overlooked by a laundry company workroom in the building next door. We wouldn't recommend this hotel.

Recently back from a 4 night stay here. The positives first, reasonable distance to attractions, comfy bed, clean enough, nice staff, good elevators. The staff kindly acknowledged my birthday with wine and treats, thank you. The negatives, we arrived at 2pm, check in was supposed to be 3pm, didn't get checked in until after 4pm, a bit disappointing to spend 2 hours hanging around the reception. This is a sketchy area, there is an issue with drug use here, you will encounter junkies every time you walk along the street to the hotel, they hang out on the corner on sofas and chairs. In the room itself my main complaint was the noise of the aircon, it sounded like a jumbo jet was landing on the bed, the bathroom fan was on 24/7 with no off switch which was an added layer of noise. We had to freeze the room while we were awake as we had to switch off the aircon to get any sleep but then the room overheated. It made for 4 sweaty, sleepless nights unfortunately. Hotel said they would send someone up to check out the aircon but we never heard anything. As the hotel was full there was zero chance of us being moved so we just resigned ourselves to the noise. As diamond member, did not receive upgrade but was allowed $10 pp to spend at the hotel. As the restaurant was closed and there was no bar, all that was left was the overpriced shop. $4 for yoghurt, $4 for kind bar, that was about it for the allowance. This is my 5th visit to NY in 8 years and my least favourite hotel stay yet, unfortunately I would not return.

Hilton Garden Inn Times Square South The lobby is bright and contemporary They offer coffee in the morning And Ice water in the afternoon The restaurant is closed. They offer no breakfast. My daughter (15) and I were greeted by Marie and. Marianna With a smile I’m a Hilton honors member we were able to check in alittle early. This was really nice. We had a king bed. Room was clean The room itself was small but this is NYC They have only one mirror which is in the bathroom. So bring extra if you have a large group. We had a refrigerator microwave in the room as well The hotel is located off 8th Ave and 37th street. The area is alittle scratchy for those traveling with families. It’s about a 15 minute walk to Times Square. 10 minute walk to Penn station Breakfast we walked 5 minutes to Andrew’s New York City diner Hats off to the welcoming team

The hotel was pleasant. The room was quiet and clean. I very much appreciated having a fridge. Bed was comfortable but not quite real Hilton or DoubleTree level, but I still slept well. Things were quite speedy. If you needed something brought up, it happened fast. I know this because I was frequently calling for little details the housekeeping staff had forgotten. All of the staff I engaged with over 4 nights were very pleasant and genuinely seemed interested in providing good service. The restaurant in the hotel is currently closed, though this is not an inconvenience, there are plenty of options nearby. The rooms on the back of the building face a fashion prototype operation, so you get a close up look at how the garment district actually works. The hotel location is quite convenient to Penn Station and the Moynihan Train Hall. The walk with a rolling suitcase won’t take you more than about 5-6 minutes. If you are arriving EWR you can be at the hotel in less than 45min aircraft to hotel door if the timing lines up with the NJTransit schedule. All in all I will seriously consider staying here again, but one thing unfortunately requires mentioning: Midtown just south of Times Square (the Garment District) appears to be going through a phase of more open use of hard drugs, primarily opioids. This could be upsetting to some guests. It is something to be aware of, but it should not discourage you from booking, as the street was fundamentally safe. The hotel always had an employee by the door keeping an eye on things regardless of the hour. Many neighboring hotels have a far worse situation, especially those which are set in from the street, such as the Doubletree and Holiday Inn a block or so away. The hotel and the all the neighbors on that block of W37th appear to be diligent in keeping their sidewalks clean and clear of hazards. Stayed while visiting family.

I had to prepare myself for a small room and 2 beds are 2 full sized beds, but once got past that, everyone there was so darn nice. Room was clean and front desk staff so nice and helpful. Shout out to Waldy, Jason and the greeter whose name we didn’t get. We had a stupid amount of luggage and they were great helping us getting to and fro. Location was fine for us to get where we wanted either walk or subway. Would stay again.

Cleanliness of the room was appaling. We were asked upon arrival if we would like the room cleaned every day, which I found very strange as I assumed this would be company policy but we said emphatically "YES". I have retained pictures of the dirt and dust and grime in the room which I fully intend to share on Trip Advisor etc and various social media platforms to warn others. We notified reception on various occasions but after many assurances that it would be taken care of, nothing was done. We spoke several times to reception staff who said that management would be informed but after speaking to management, we were told that nothing about out concerns had been relayed to them. Along with non existent cleaning of the room, the bin wasn't emptied most days and the allocation of towels etc was at best sporadic. There was also a stain on the bed cover which looked like blood. My wife litterally had to beg for dcafinated coffee for the room. Again, after assurances that it would be taken care of she had to visit reception on four separate mornings and evenings to ask again for the product. Such was the horrendous service that we were given upon departure a discount on our total bill but I really feel that it was very much a token gesture and an attempt to stop me forwarding the pictures to a higher authority within your organisation. Our stay was very much impacted by the stress and anxiety caused at your hotel and what should have been a holiday of a lifetime for our daughter has left a very sour taste in out mouths. We booked with Hilton and paid considerablly more than for other hotels in the area specifically because of the brand. I assumed the name "Hilton" was synonymous with luxury and quality. On this occasion you fell way short of even half way decent. I am still extremely angry at how we were treated and gutted at how it impacted my daughter and wife.

Check In was swift. Room was a little smaller than expected but I was ok with that. Had an issue with my room and cleaning provided by housekeeping. Jason at the front desk remained calm, and solution based. He is an asset to this property.

In NYC you have to expect small rooms. That’s fine. But it’s the grossness that I can’t handle. Our bedspread had bloodstains. There was hair in the bed. The shower drain filter was off and you’d stand in an inch of water while trying to shower. The sink drain didn’t work either. There were brown stains along the baseboard that could have been anything. It was just gross. The front desk staff when we left this morning was awful. We tried to let her know that they needed to look at the shower drain and she just stared at us. We forgot our key fob at the hotel and called to ask if someone could grab it for us and it took four calls just to get someone to take our information. Each person who answered just put us on hold for 30 minutes and never came back. The only positive comment is that the housekeeping staff was friendly. Don’t stay here. I never will again.
