We visited the New Yorker in September 2014. Mohammed on reception upgraded us to a bigger room with a wonderful view. We found the hotel comfortable and well organised, we booked the theatre through the hotel which was straight forward. We did not eat in the hotel as we wanted to see the city. The hotel is in a great...

When you walk in this hotel it has a real art deco feel in the lobby. It doesn't feel old or stuffy though. The decor is generally impressive and well presented. Another bonus is the fact you can walk into the tic toc diner for breakfast without leaving the hotel as there is an internal door to the side of...

Stayed here years ago. Hated it. Had to stay here again. Still hate it. Good location, but you can do better than this place. Anyplace is better. Staff is generally OK. Rooms are small and dark. Internet absolutely sucks.

We stayed at the New Yorker for five nights in mid-September and loved it. The staff were all very helpful and kind. Our room was not quite ready when we arrived so the desk staff gave us all free drink vouchers to wait in the bar. We didn't expect that and didn't ask for it. The receptionist came to the...

Thank you for sharing your wonderful 5 star review! Though your room wasn’t ready we’re pleased to hear that our staff members ensured you were well taken care of until your room became available. Our location is definitely a great spot to get to many of the city highlight spots in walking distance and still have many subway lines nearby...

Right above penny station for many trains. We walked to/from Central Park, soho, high line, upper west side, upper east side, etc. clean, large room. They held our bags when arriving early for free, we changed in the bathrooms for LeCirque then they held our bags on day if departure for $2/bag. Great service.

Mohamad and Angel from the reception desk were very helpful in finding us a quiet room for my mother and me. They treat you with respect and go out of their way to accommodate your needs. It was my 2nd stay at the New Yorker and I'll be back for sure. Of course the hotel is a little vintage looking...

Great location within a block of Penn Station & 3+ blocks comfortable walk to Javits Convention Center, where my business obligations were located. Rooms are adequate, comfortable & clean. Reminded me of many small European hotel rooms where you have to shut the bathroom door before you can actually use that room comfortably (was by myself). Staff on-site was friendly...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
