Unfortunately this hotel really needs to make some changes. The room and bathroom were awful - old, tired and not clean. Location was great and convenient, but I definitely felt I wasted my money as there are so many other much better hotels in the city. And they charged for bag storage!!! Just a suggestion - watch the elevator doors...

I stayed at the hotel to visit with some friends. I was impressed by the cleanliness and security of the place. Staff was helpful and courteous and they tried to find me the best suite they had. Having the Tick Tock Diner on location came in very handy too. For the size of the rooms I think it is worth...

Right on top of Penn Station this was ideal for us as first time visitors to nyc. Room was adequate - it had all the basics needed and when we asked for a coffee machine it was promptly provided. Staff were efficient. The location close to major sights (we walked to the high line, empire state building, Maceys and Times...

This is my second stay at the New Yorker. It's a decent hotel. The room was clean, as were the linens. Maid service was very good. The rooms and facility is worn, but the hotel was built in 1929, so that's understandable. The staff was very courteous and mostly worked hard to help me. I did encounter a couple of...

In general quality of services, cleanness of rooms and kindness of hotel staff is OK. But free wifi is useless, only paid access works. They should not advertise themselves as free wifi available. Shower head was old and water streamed indirectionally making shampoo and conditioner washout difficult.

This was an ideal location for a mother-daughter girls' weekend in New York, located just up the block from Penn Station and transportation too all our fun adventures. I'd asked for a room on a high floor with a city view, and the hotel upgraded me to a corner suite that had two bathrooms and a sofa bed for the...

Can't believe they charged us to store our bags for 90 min between check out and taxi to the airport after spending over $300/night on a room (I had called previously and no one gave me this info). One of the days we were there, we came back to the room at 4 and it wasn't made up. That's really...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
