Celebrated my girlfriend’s birthday in the city and decided to not stay in midtown for a change. The hotel rooms are much larger than most hotels I have stayed in while in NYC. We had no plans but Mario told us to try the new restaurant which we did for lunch and then he told us where to go for dinner. Mario was amazing. Nick was also really nice and helped us with getting Broadway Tickets. Glad we decided not to do the typical midtown stay
This is a gorgeous modern boutique hotel. The rooms are lovely and modern. Upon arrival and during my stay, the staff was very welcoming and attentive. Mario is simply a GIFT to this establishment by far. He is one of the most welcoming and geniune people I’ve had the pleasure to meet! I had a few colleagues meet me at the hotel and everyone was welcoming and offering them water due to the very hot day. The overnight/early morning ( 5am) staff was not as welcoming, I felt a few times that I was being looked at like I was not a patron of the hotel when walking in, especially by the security. However the daytime staff completely overshadowed that minor experience.
Smyth Tribeca is an unshowy building in lower Manhattan, not opulent with frills but good quality and functional. My room was a modest size but very comfortable, good shower and internet. There is no restaurant, but plenty of nice bars and places to eat nearby. I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 3 for two reasons. First is that the location for trips out to Liberty Island and other NYC sights was great, and the environment felt safe and relaxed to travel in foot. Second is that the guy on the door and one of the girls at reception were super helpful, which as an out of towner like me counted for a lot.
Helpful. Friendly. Always a smile. Mario was so friendly and always there to help with whatever you need. Front desk staff was always available for assistance, even if I wanted some tea late at night. Would be great if tea /coffee was in the room.
We had a great stay at the Smyth Tribeca and a special shout out to all of the staff who were ever so accommodating. Service was excellent and location was great too. We had a very good sized room and it was in immaculate condition.
The location is fantastic. The team, both at the entrance and at the reception was very helpful and gave us a great service. The room was superb. Thanks Dalila (reception) for your kind welcome. If you need to work, there is plenty of room in the lobby.
The location in central Tribeca allowed for convenient travel to notable outlets and sights. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and we had a view of the One World Trade Centre and the Empire State Building. The toiletries provided were of high quality. The staff were polite and accommodating. Mario the receptionist, in particular, made our stay here exceptionally memorable. He was warm and friendly, always willing to converse with us, and was a highlight of our stay. The only cons of our stay were that the walls were incredibly thin - we could hear the residents down the hall closing their doors and the water fixtures whenever someone showered or used the toilet. Also, the breakfast service didn't seem worth it to me as my sister asked for an English muffin and was given a slice of bread with jam. However, these didn't subtract from our stay here and I'd still recommend staying here.…
Very well designed modern hotel set back from the street with tranquil garden spaces, and modern interior design. Food, views and everything was so nice that I will be coming again atleast a couple of times before leaving nyc
Great experience. We have received excellent attention from Markenlie, she has helped us at all times, thanks to her when we return to NY, we will return to the smyth Tribeca Hotel. Very nice hotel, great location, I’m sure best hotel in tribeca.
We have stayed here several times. It has always been notable for being clean and elegantly furnished. Amazingly convenient to sites downtown and only steps from subway stop. Most impressive is the friendly and helpful staff!
