The service was great- but the hotel is across the street from a very loud train, the rooms are tiny, the bed is hard, the sheets are stained and torn, the wallpaper in the room was torn and there was a big hole in the wall, and the price is way too much for the complete lack of quality. The...

Noise from the streets, trains and from the rooms near you. Rooms are very small and need more than a shine up.

Most of these reviews are about right but you get what you pay for. My wife and I leave hotels at 9am and don't return until 9pm, so why pay for all sorts of facilities you never use? We ask for a clean bed, en suite bathroom and a wardrobe and that's what we got, you have to stay somewhere....

I several nights in the Mayor Hotel and will never stay again. I don't know how people gave this place 4 stars! First off, it's located in Chinatown, which I personally am not a fan of. Nothing is in English, so something as simple as finding a store to buy a soda is difficult. I find that Chinatown is one...

Pros: -Less than $200/night. Don't need to spend more than that especially if you're out most of the time exploring the city. -Free simple breakfast 7am - 10 am. Baked goods, egg and ham sandwiches, bacon buns, cream filled pastries, croissants, coffee, and tea. -Very friendly staff, especially those guys that work nights and early morning shifts. -Location. Felt safe...

The hotel is well located in Chinatown but that was all there is nice to say about it. The interior looks cheap, my room was small, the furnitures were degraded, I even found a stain of iron on the desk... There were lamp missing with the wires bursting out of the wall. The A/C was not controlled from the room...

We stayed here three nights and overall it was ok. rooms are tiny and the location was quite loud (manhattan bridge just across the street). we skipped the breakfast always since it wasn't very good. the upsight: you get clean rooms, a friendly stuff, in a quite central location for a moderate price.

Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms were clean but we moved the bed against the wall to make more room and it needed some cleaning under the bed. It is located walking distance from some good restaurants in Chinatown and Little Italy and you can also walk to Soho if you are up to a 15 min walk. Subway station...

This hotel is the worst I have ever stayed at. The beds are basically box springs and ou are probably better off sleeping on the floor... The bathrooms have mold and it is like that in all the rooms, I tried to switch and it was a waste of time... Management is not understandable about the horrible rooms they have...

I´m gonna be mean and start with negative. Please don´t book this hotel if you are looking for a place with breakfast. Their so called breakfast consists of aged and suspiciously tasting buns, served in a smelly laundry room in the basement!!! BUT, otherwise I was happy with our stay here. Fantastic location with easy access to Midtown Manhattan via...

Staying in Chinatown

Neighbourhood Profile
Chinatown
Bursting with an amazing array of sights, sounds, and smells on every block, a visit to Chinatown feels like entering a different world. It’s a colorful spectacle that gets even more crowded on weekends, when families stream in to enjoy huge dim sum feasts and to stock up at the markets on Mott Street. To take a break from the buzz, grab something sweet from one of the many bakeries in the area and head to Columbus Park, where many Chinatown residents exercise, play games, and chat the day away.
