The hotel is a sub ten minute walk from Penn, so is well set if you are coming in from the airport via Penn, or plan to use the subway a lot. Everything about this hotel is branded, so if you are looking for something sedate and conservative, this is not for you. However, your Instagram feed will love this place. Check in was swift and easy (i.e jetlagged me didnt have any issues) and the room, whilst very small was set up well enough that two plus two weeks of luggage was squished, but fine. Much is made of the beds and the bedding and they are great, you will sleep well. I wasnt a fan of the overly sweet shower gels, but they are there and are different to say the least! We had a good coffee machine, and the pods were welcome in the AM! No restaurant, no bar, expect a small fridge, but its NYC, you will find both in 5 mins. As a couple of nights stop over to whistle through some NYC sights before moving on, the hotel was great, just be aware the rooms are small!

My wife and I just returned from our first visit to NYC and we stayed at the Stay Pineapple hotel in Manhattan. It was absolutely ideal. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by the manager and asked which card we would be leaving the $200 deposit on. After asking, the manager confirmed from this $200, they would deduct the $25 per day hotel tax (which our travel agent had made us aware of) and the remaining amount would be refunded to the card at the end of our stay (which it was). Pros: Great location Friendly, attentive staff Nice bathroom and powerful shower Large beds Great air con Cons The room was small but we were hardly ever there The bed wasn’t changed during our stay (on one occasion, room-keeping made the bed, emptied bins etc but it was clear the sheets were the same) Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel if you are visiting NYC. Thanks Stay Pineapple.

Hi Matty, Thank you so much for staying with us and taking the time to leave a review and share your experience with others. I apologize about your room service. I checked and we had your room as a refresh and not a full service so the ball was dropped on our end and as to why the sheets weren't changed. We are happy that you enjoyed theyour stay and our staff and hope to see you again soon. Cheers, Andrew Brown General Manager

My room was very small but as I was traveling solo it wasn’t an issue. The hotel was clean, quiet and had an extremely comfy bed (and their duvets felt like sleeping in a cloud). Bathroom was very cramped but had good lighting and plenty (maybe too many) mirrors as well as wall dispensers with shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Check in/out was a breeze and the hotel held my bags until I was ready to catch my train later in the afternoon. Also the lack of carpeting in guest rooms is a huge plus. My only real issue was the shower. The shower door didn’t close right and would open about a half an inch every time I used it, leaving the bathroom floor soaked and forcing me to waste a set of very fluffy towels on spill cleanup. Also the shower head pressure was pleasantly strong except for one jet stream that was borderline painful. Overall I enjoyed my stay and would recommend Staypineapple to friends.

We chose this hotel based on its excellent location and the fact they provide free bikes. NYC biking can be intimidating, but if you are up for the challenge, they can take you almost anywhere - during the week we were there, we biked all over the place, including Central Park, The Bronx, Brooklyn, the Hudson River Greenway, and Harlem. We even made a round trip to Coney Island and back on the bikes! The staff at StayPineapple were great - they provided the bikes, locks, and helmets whenever we needed them and were very helpful at all times. We would definitely stay here again if we get the chance!

Staypineapple did it again! We were so impressed with our stay in Boston that we leapt at the chance to book again when we visited Manhattan. While the area wasn’t my favourite, I never felt scared to walk at night and the nearby restaurants and bodegas were a bonus. The fact that the main doors lock after 7pm (accessible with our room key) and that there was always concierge in the lobby willing to let us in if we lost our key was also lovely. I should mention that everyone at this facility was excellent. Everyone was very welcoming and went above and beyond our expectations; this seems to be a Staypineapple theme as everyone in Boston was fantastic as well! The bed and linens were once again superb - and, quite frankly, one of the main reasons we became enamored with this brand - and the robes were great to get ready in. The room was small, as is common in NYC, but very well accommodating of our clothing and luggage. The AC created a chilly reprieve and the unlimited, complimentary water bottles kept us hydrated during our warm August visit. Can’t wait to visit the next Staypineapple hotel… this time in Chicago!

The first thing that caught my eye was a promotion of pay for two nights, get a third one free. They do charge those annoying amenity fees. When totaled though, the hotel did offer a good value when compared to other hotels in the Manhattan area. Next thing you need to know, the room is small where they try to be efficient but yet cute or clever with every square foot. It's NYC, Manhattan, near Times Square, expect smaller rooms unless you are popping for $$$$ rates. The building is quite skinny and there are either 4 or 5 rooms to a floor. There are 25 floors. My room was 1004, so my comments reflect what I found in that room. The room was clean and the AC was working. The humidity had been oppressive before and while we were there so the room felt damp even when we ran the "dry" setting on the thermostat. The bathroom was clean and had some nice design features. Mirrors abound, which made it interesting when you are sitting on the toilet. Not sure what they clean the shower floor with, but be cautious your first shower, for me it was a little slippery. After the first shower it was fine. Water pressure was decent and controlling the temperature was easy. The towels were awesome! Some of the best I have come across in my 66 years. The bed was comfortable and each side got it own bedding "packet", which I kept kicking off during the first night. By the third night, I aced it. A big plus was there was a small night stand on each side of the bed that had an outlet and USB ports. That sort of feature is very appreciated for those of us that travel with CPAPs and need to charge phones and other devices. The TV got a number of channels, including a few HBO and ESPN offerings. You can also connect and stream from you device. We were able to watch the conclusion of Murders In The Building by streaming Hulu from one of our phones. Bottled water is free (don't hesitate to ask for more, takes some of the sting out of the amenity fee). Room cleaning occurs every other day after check-in. We waived cleaning when housekeeping was on our floor and just asked for fresh towels. We didn't use them but there are bathrobes in the closet. We didn't have a view of anything rooftops and the sides of other buildings, but we had almost zero street noise and 36th seemed to be a fairly busy street. Other perks, you get a free soft drink credit with your stay, there is a fitness room supposedly but we did not check it out. We arrived via Amtrak and the hotel is an easy 3 block walk from Penn Station. So in summation, I would strongly consider staying here again, especially if I can find it at similar price point. With the pay for 2, get 1 free deal, the total cost of the room, amenity fee, and taxes came in at under $700.00. Well done Staypineapple, well done.

I was so impressed with StayPineapple. The decor is super cute and the hotel was clean and comfortable. Everything looked exactly as the pictures. I stayed with my daughter for the weekend and it was within walking distance to both Times Square and Madison Square Garden. I would 100% stay here again.

VERY clean! Perfectly quiet (which is unexpected in NYC). Big shoutout to the amazingly friendly, generous and helpful staff (way beyond the "they're just doin' their job"). I definitely recommend this hotel! The location was perfect for us (next to the train station and at a walkable distance of everything we wanted to see/visit/eat). However, note that the stretch of street it is located on is quite sketchy.

Hi Lou P, Thank you so much for staying with us and taking the time to share your experience with others. We really appreciate the 5 star review. We are working with the city and our neighbor hood garment district alliance in regards to the street as they have installed security and clean up crews for the neighborhood within the last month to help with the neighborhood and it will certainly get better with time. We are so glad that you loved the hotel and our amazing staff. The certainly work hard and provide genuine service. We hope to see you again whenever your travels bring you to NYC.
