The James treats you well. I stay at the James about every other month. During my most recent stay Rebecca at the front remembered me by name when I checked in. The next evening I ran into Julio the Room Service manager. I had not seen him in over a month and he also remembered me by name. Very impressive...

This hotel was everything we hoped for... it's got a true NYC loft vibe and the bathroom was super cool... Room service for dinner was amazing, you have to try... And the restaurant down stairs was just as great. We would stay here again even though they had a mix up and charged us for our stay when checking out...

I booked this hotel at last minute. I checked into a room that was shabby by any standard, much less the standards of a top hotel. There were stains on the chair, the table and the floor. The windows were streaked with fingerprints. The u-bolt looked as though someone had tried to force their way into the room. The smoke...

We had a great stay, the room was small but modern and cozy and bathroom was very sleek. This is a Fab location in SoHo which just can't be beat! Interesting building, friendly staff, and wine and cheese in the lobby each afternoon. Looking forward to going back this summer as there is a several outdoor areas including rooftop bar...

I guess I'm in the minority here. My stay at The James hotel was a bit unpleasant. My main complaints are cleanliness and maintenance. What happened? Well other than my room being infested with spiders (I saw 3 large ones on separate occasions) and my shower tile being moldy/rusty/dirty, I also had the pleasantly of my smoke detector battery begin...

We have a nice room on the 16th with a beautiful view of the city. Nice bathroom and the bed and sheets were really comfortable. I like the hh in the evenings with wine and cheese. Also in the mornings you get pastries and coffee. Another plus is the drinking water they provide in the rooms. I loved that, so...

Had a nice stay in a corner queen room. The room was a good size and I liked the bathroom, comfy bed, soft robe and the views. I didn’t take advantage of breakfast or any other amenities, really just used it as a place to sleep. One issue I had was that they could not figure out a way to...

We had a great stay at The James in NYC. If you're spending time in lower Manhattan, it's in a prime spot conveniently in SOHO but close to Tribeca and Greenwich Village. There is also a subway stop just two blocks away. The room was about average size for a Manhattan hotel, not big but not tiny. We had a...

We stayed at the James over Valentine's day. I had requested a room with a view since it was my husband's first visit to NYC. When we arrived we were kindly greeted by the bellman who assisted with our luggage and the valet parking. Parking is $55 a night which is a good price for New York. At check in...

My husband and I stayed at The James for a long weekend, to celebrate our anniversary. It was wonderful. We were surprised to have chilled champagne and strawberries waiting in our room, and a lovely note congratulating us. Such a caring detail. The rest of our stay was flawless, and the staff could not have been nicer, thoughtful and helpful....

Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.
