From the minute you arrive you will find that you are warmly welcomed and treated like family. The treats in the lobby throughout the day is a nice touch. The rooms are very modern which is to my liking. I wanted to say an extra thank you to Juliette at the front desk. She was so helpful and sweet! We...

We've stayed at The James a few times and have always found it to be the very highest quality but in a small enough building to feel really special. The restaurant, bar and rooms are all beautiful, and the staff is great, too. Perfect place to stay if the price suits your budget...you won't be disappointed.

My second time at The James, having tried out other hotels in the area in the meantime - and I'm so glad I went back! The rooms are fine, very modern and well stocked with a mini bar, snacks and a kettle - we Brits love a kettle! - but the very best thing about this place is its staff....

Great location in Soho. Very convenient to walk around where the shops are and to get to the subway. While the rooms are very small, they use the space very well. Definitely a modern take versus traditional. This hotel is next to a busy street. If you are a light sleeper, probably not the best choice...it's loud. Ask for a...

The James is a small friendly hotel which is right on trend. I had a corner room - small but well equipped. Had everything you could want. I was there on my own for mork and it may have been a little cramped with 2 people. Beautiful sweeping views. Very friendly helpful front desk staff and doormen. I thought the...

We loved our stay at The James! It's a little funky the way it's designed with an elevator to the lobby, but we loved it. Very contemporary building. Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.

“Corner suite was lovely. Beds are great. Do not shy away because of talk about glass bathroom. I believe it was mentioned on Fodors. There is a beautiful screen that comes down with the touch of a button, but while open it adds tons of "footage" to he room. Ingenious.”
