We looked at quite a few options around SOHO and settled on The James for our 3-day family excursion to SOHO. Our choice turned out to be a great one on all fronts -- service, rooms, location, and comfort. The James is perfectly located for our food & shopping-focused itinerary. We were able to walk to most of our target...

I stayed here for business a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it so I returned with my wife for a weekend away. The big difference was, whereas the room was fine when I was alone,as a couple it felt somewhat small. Not uncomfortably so but a little bit more size would have made the stay virtually perfect. It's...

Beautiful, modern and architecturally impressive! Excellent location in SOHO, NYC. Staff is warm, friendly and go out of their way for you! VERY personal! We had the family suite. The rooms are beautiful but small ...the design of the rooms are impressive making a very small room look much larger. Excellent on-site restaurant.

Wonderful stay. Nice and friendly staff, clean rooms. Great location. Parking price $76 not mentioned anywhere at hotel, found 3days later. Charged 3 separate times. Caused my Credit card to be stolen.

If they were honest about the weekend noise issue on then 17th floor I would have given them more stars, as the hotel itself is good. We read the reviews and asked not to be on the 17th. However, because they put someone else in our assigned room, when we checked in we were offered a downgrade (for one night,...

Kenny was fantastic. He was sweet, accommodating and got us a great ride to LGA. The rooms are nice but you don't get much despite the price. Very small room at $600 per night but with a fantastic view. The rooftop bar was very nice but also small. The food was very good.

I am a hotel snob and have high expectations of the locations in which I stay. On this particular trip to NYC, I opted to try The James SoHo. This is one of my go to hotels in New York. The location is perfect being at a quieter and more intimate end of Soho, despite being so close to the Holland Tunnel and Canal Street. Staying in SoHo

Neighbourhood Profile
SoHo
Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.

“Corner suite was lovely. Beds are great. Do not shy away because of talk about glass bathroom. I believe it was mentioned on Fodors. There is a beautiful screen that comes down with the touch of a button, but while open it adds tons of "footage" to he room. Ingenious.”
