This B&B is about 100m from the subway , which is fine if you are comfortable with using the subway . Comfortable beds but the rooms are cluttered with too much furniture . Bathroom clean but tired . Daily breakfast was good & staff are happy to share local knowledge . No lift so a bit of a hike to...

We went to NYC for new years and stayed at the Canal Park Inn. What a lovely place! The people working there are so friendly, giving advice on what to see and where to go while visiting. The rooms are big, and we had a kitchen and even a small patio (unfortunately the weather was a little too cold, so...

Thank you so much for choosing our Inn and for your kind words about your stay with us. It was such a pleasure to meet you and your charming children. And a very special thank you for that gift box of delicious chocolates from your homeland that you left for us. Look forward to seeing you next time you're in...

We visited in October and stayed in the Denot Suite. We are not fans of huge hotels and found this perfect to our tastes. Both Kip and Terra were wonderful hosts. They made delicious breakfasts and gave us great tips and directions for sightseeing. We arrived before check in and they were kind enough to safely store our luggage while...

This is a great place to stay with loads of history and loads of character. Very comfy beds and a very quiet room considering you are staying in Manhattan.Based in the trendy Tribeca district there are loads of good bars and restaurants locally and you can easily walk to Greenwich village and the 9/11 memorial. Wonderful room, perfectly appointed, and totally delicious breakfasts made to order. Great washroom, although the tub is small for soaking. Showers are first rate! Easy walk to Tribeca and Soho, and the Hudson River Greenway.

We last stayed here 4 years ago and knew then if we returned to manhattan we would stay here. We stayed in the Kennedy room this time and it was just as comfortable. Breakfast of Orange juice, orange slices, coffee or a selection teas followed by waffles, French toast or omelette cooked by someone who is genuinely interested in your...

The Canal Park Inn is a lovely B&B on Canal. They have 5 rooms and I stayed in the Kennedy. Each room is named after a previous owner from the 19th Century. Everything is brand-new, but crafted to appear Victorian. So, the Kennedy has a free-standing, claw feet Vintage tub, but it's brand new. The bed was very comfortable and...

This is a reasonably priced place to stay in New York. It's not in a particularly great location, but that's to be expected considering the reasonable price. It's about a 3 block walk to the subway. Kipp was very friendly and welcoming. We arrived at night. He wasn't able to meet us, but he had sent an email with details...

Lovely B&B in Manhattan New York city. Breakfasts very delicious & cooked by the owner each morning except on sunday. Nothing is too much trouble. If you don't mind doing a bit of walking, this B&B will be perfect for you. Its situated in an area that's away from the buzz of NYC. The subway is a couple of blocks...

My sister and I just stayed here for 4 nights. This place is such a find! Comfortable, home like, great breakfasts included (real food, not your typical continental breakfast). We had a couple of issues the first night but Kip was most accommodating and took care of things immediately. This place is off the beaten path but very well situated...

Staying in TriBeCa

Neighbourhood Profile
TriBeCa
What’s in a name? In this case it is the unique title of “Triangle Below Canal Street” that became a popular nickname in the 1970s. An attractive neighbourhood filled with handsome lofts on the edge of the Financial District, this lovely slice of Manhattan offers plenty of fine dining experiences and art galleries. Plus, it’s home to the city’s most exciting film event, the Tribeca Film Festival, that takes place here every year. TriBeCa is a great place to take a leisurely stroll before stopping into one of the many local restaurants or bars for a satisfying meal and cocktail. You’ll see families out for an afternoon walk, and don’t be surprised to come up with the occasional celebrity sighting. With such a great vibe, many of the city’s most famous residents call this neighbourhood home.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled on the border of Soho and Tribeca, our landmarked 1826 Canal House is ideally situated for experiencing the best New York has to offer—and still having a quiet place to call home at the end of the day. Surrounded by 5-star restaurants and a block away from the landscaped parks, open grass, tennis courts, and stunning sunsets at the Hudson River Park, we strike a perfect balance between nature and culture. The Osborne’s have owned 508 Canal Street since 1980. In this building, they raised their daughter, providing the building with family history built into the very walls. (Behind a renovation wall on the top floor of the building is hidden a mural painted by children at a particularly creative third birthday party.) The beds and several end tables in the Inn were built by Kipp Osborne, coming from the days when he and his wife, Margot, were furniture makers in Soho and Tribeca. ... more   less
