We got a last minute booking using points. The amount of points needed was lower than most other hotels. Should have been a clue. Check in was easy, the room is dated but nice and clean. What I couldn’t believe this is the first hotel I been in that doesn’t have complimentary coffee in the morning. A breakfast sandwich, muffin and a coffee was $31. Way too much for what I received. There’s a sign that states, “no refills for coffee purchases”. I found that rather tacky and not in line with Hilton hospitality and service standards.

I was very pleased with my stay at the Hilton Times Square. First off, the location is perfect, right off of Times Square as well as the subway connection there is perfect to be able to to anywhere in the city. So this hits all the points for location. Next, the Hotel rooms, spacious, well appointed and on floors 22 -44, so great views, particularly on the upper floors. I was on floor 36 with a great view south, Empire state building right outside my window. Staff, all great, respectful and were always glad to assist; great team. I was recognized as a Diamond member; check. The only downside was the price of a full breakfast; 50 USD (plus tax). that I find a bit pricey, but the only minus point. I fully recommend staying here.

Lovely comfortable spacious room with fantastic views of New York. Ideally located for transport, entertainment, and shopping. With regards to resort fees, the Hilton reimburses you by allowing you to spend the equivalent amount on food and drink each day. Not all hotels do this, so it's much appreciated. The hotel my son was staying at only reimbursed 10 dollars a day. We had a late return flight, so we left our luggage at the hotel at a cost of 10 dollars. This was brilliant as it allowed us to spend several more hours exploring without having to drag our luggage about. House keeping do a fantastic job in keeping everything spotless. Should we return to New York, we would be happy to stay again. I do agree with other comments regarding reception staff. A welcoming smile goes a long way, I appreciate that they may be busy, but you should be made to feel welcome. All in all a good hotel.

Alexreid1989, it brings us great delight to know that you appreciated the Hilton New York Times Square's room comfort and views, as well as its prime location. We're pleased that our resort fee reimbursement practice worked well for you and your family. Additionally, knowing that our housekeeping team's efforts resulted in a neat environment for your stay uplifts us. That being said, we take your comments about the reception team to heart. We strive to provide exceptional experiences, and knowing that your expectations weren't fully met on this front gives us an opportunity for improvement. Your thoughtful feedback and consideration to return to our hotel mean a lot to us, and we truly look forward to your next visit.

Recently stayed and booked via British airways. Was not advised about resort fees untill we got there which we were told had been paid. But then they have been taken from the security deposit. No one gives you any information or they give you the wrong information. The rooms where standard and clean and the cleaners where lovely. As for The rest of the staff it would not harm them to smile. I’ve Been to New York previously and stayed at the Crowne plaza and the staff there where amazing but at the Hilton it’s like none of them where happy to be there. The man in the market shop was the worst his attitude was awfull maybe don’t work there if you don’t like it. Some people come to New York as a once in a lifetime trip and would expect a better customer service. Also the men down stairs tried to scam people, for one it’s ridiculous that you would have to pay to hold luggage for a couple of hours but the staff kept saying the card machine weren’t working so cash would do and then also asked for a tip for holiding the luggage. It was crazy. Wouldn’t mind tipping if they where at least polite. The location was good tho but would never stay here again.

Nicola, we're disappointed to hear about your experience. Unexpected charges can be frustrating, we'll review our communication process to ensure clarity. We appreciate your compliment on our housekeeping team and their dedication to cleanliness. It's concerning to hear about any encounters that were less than satisfactory. We believe in delivering excellent service, with every interaction, and your feedback indicates that we missed the mark. This will be addressed with our team. Lastly, we understand the importance of luggage assistance and find your experience very unusual. We'll be looking into this incident. Your satisfaction is of great importance to us. Although you mentioned you wouldn't return to our hotel, we hope you will reconsider and allow us the opportunity to rectify this experience.

Booked through British Airways as a package holiday. After requesting connecting rooms/adjacent rooms for a disability, we checked in to be told rooms had been allocated on different floors! Requested a manager and managed to get rooms on the same floor (not ideal) even after being told by Hilton online chat that the rooms had been allocated together! We provided paperwork to show that any resort fees were waived, but they advised that we had to provide a credit card and be charged pending $400 per room for a security deposit and no resort fees would be charged. We agreed to this and the mandatory security deposits were returned, but after checking out the resort fees were still taken! Beware!

Greetings 22beccib, it's disheartening to hear about your experiences with the room allocation and the resort fees situation. Regular communication between our teams should prevent instances like this, so your feedback is invaluable. We appreciate your understanding as we seek to improve these aspects for all our guests. This hotel was remarkably inexpensive given the location. The location is perfect if you like the hustle and bustle of Times Square and want to be close to theatres. We were traveling with someone in an electric wheelchair and wanted to be close to everything to prolong the life of the battery so we considered a few different hotels based on location. The Hilton won out because of the available parking and room service so the friend who would need more time in the hotel would not miss out on meals while remaining in the hotel. Unfortunately, we didn’t notice that the parking was not available until checking our confirmation email to find the address of the garage. We found a garage a few blocks away. We arrived a bit before check in and the wheelchair needed to be charged so most of the party headed out while the friend charged the chair in the market. There is no lobby but there are tables in the market. The available table with an electric plug was covered in crumbs from a previous guest. There were two people working in the market but no one came by to wipe the table. When a nearby table emptied and wine glasses were left behind the glasses remained on the table after another couple sat there and eventually left. For a relatively empty room with two employees it seemed odd that no one was checking on guests. Not a huge issue but the type of service I would expect from a Red Roof Inn rather than a Hilton. The room was quiet and had beautiful views facing North. The beds were firm. There was no menu for room service but there was a button on the phone. Someone picked up, put the call on hold and never returned. I’m not usually squeamish about germs but wish we had brought cleaning wipes as the bathroom was not at all what we expected. See attached pictures. While not a bad option for the price this is not a hotel we would choose to return to.

Beware. While the room we received was spacious and clean with a view, the management of this hotel is the worst I’ve ever experienced. When we arrived the shower barely trickled water and the tub wouldn’t drain. Numerous attempts to reach someone at the front desk on the room phone failed and hit a busy signal. Messages left were never responded to. And we had to wait in line to deliver our complaint in person, after which nothing was done. Finally, on our third day, we got a manager to call engineer meeting and someone came up at 10 pm and changed the shower head. Other requests made at the front desk, all after waiting behind people checking in, were simply ignored. We purchased the room through Priceline, but when we checked in we were told there would be “destination charges” added. The about we paid was supposed to cover everything and a previous hotel we stayed in had no such charges. They took them from my deposit without my agreement. The hotel refused to reimburse me so Priceline did from its own funds. This is an atrociously managed hotel that hits you with hidden charges when it’s too late to change your mind.

I've just checked into the hotel with my wife and 13 year old daughter, the agent at the desk had a severe attitude problem and was completely unhelpful. I booked a room directly on the Hilton website for 2 adults and 1 child, you have to enter the child's age on the website. I selected the first room that the website provided a double room. When we checked in the agent said there is no roll out bed in the room and there is a separate charge!!! It mentions nothing about this on the website at all!!! So the Hilton hotel expects a 13 year old child to sleep in a double bed with 2 adults!!!! A disgusting hotel with staff that are extremely rude and completely unhelpful.

We’ve just returned from a weekend in New York and we stayed at this hotel. We knew in advance part of the hotel was under renovation so we were ready for the visit to not be perfect. Our complaints, however, have little to do with the renovation of the common area. Despite being recently “renovated,” the room was tired. I mean paint damaged on the doorway to the bathroom and gross carpet “tired.” There is a decided lack of security presence despite the location. The security measure in the elevator where you’re supposed to swipe your room key before being given access to the guest rooms was not working. There was a QR code display in the room offering room service and advising it was available until 10pm so we ordered a more than slightly overpriced bottle of wine around 8:30pm. We waited. And waited. My friend went downstairs about 45 minutes later to find out not only did the app allow us to order the wine after room service was closed due to the renovations, they didn’t even have the bottle of wine they’d sold us. I had to go downstairs this morning because they’d neglected to add my Hilton Diamond Food & Beverage credit to the invoice and they hadn’t updated to the credit card I gave when I checked in. While the staff at the bar was personable and attentive and the staff did bring enough towels quickly once appraised of the issue, we will not stay here again. It was, overall, a disappointing experience.

Bonnie, your concerns are acknowledged. Regrettably, areas for improvement during your stay have been noted, particularly regarding the room conditions and the perceived low security measure. It's also unfortunate the QR code for room service caused confusion, and we understand your dissatisfaction regarding unavailability of the selected wine and issues with your food and beverage credit. In light of your comments regarding the attention of our team members at the bar and their prompt responses, it's a shame that these positive points were overshadowed by other matters. Nonetheless, your experience has been shared with the appropriate teams to ensure all guest concerns are proactively addressed moving forward. While it's unfortunate to hear you wouldn't return, we appreciate your feedback as it helps us to enhance our services.
