I cannot begin to rate this hotel high enough. We had the most incredible stay last week with our 3 x teen daughters—superb location- right next to subway and snack bars. A walk from trendy cafes and restaurants and shopping areas. The hotel is beautifully designed, gorgeous bar area and live jazz. It was the perfect place to come back to after a long day out. Relaxing, beautiful, and a real treat at the end of the day. The noise is NOT an issue in the bedrooms and lobby music finishes at 10 pm anyway. (I had read loads of reviews complaining about the noise - it just isn't an issue!) The staff reserved a table in the lobby/bar/restaurant when needed. The staff couldn't be more helpful. They added a rollaway extra bed when requested. They went out of their way to help me get back my coat that I left behind. MASSIVE shout out to doorman Derek who was so helpful. I hope the hotel gives him an extra reward for being such a great help and friendly face on arrival and departure. We will come again and recommend it to all our friends traveling to NY.

We had a wonderful overnight stay at The Roxy Hotel in Tribeca. We stay overnight in Tribeca frequently and will only stay at The Roxy from now on. The hotel is wonderful with great amenities including live jazz in the evenings. Nice fitness center and great location. Donaldo Prescod and the front desk team were most welcoming and helpful during our visit.

I 100% recommend staying at The Roxy while in NYC. We have been to the city probably over 50x and we have stayed here the last 4. First off-the service is impeccable. Everyone there is beyond friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and very clean. What is also special about The Roxy is the atmosphere. It is very lively-live music on the first floor, along with chess tables, pool tables, and a restaurant etc. There is a movie theater in the lower level-love the smell of fresh popcorn. There is also a jazz bar down there. It's a dog friendly hotel and you can bring your pup for free! The outside sitting area with tables and food service are fantastic and so is the location. Beautiful spot in Tribeca with a subway stop super close by.

This hotel has been our go-to in New York for years. We loved all the things to do, the relaxed atmosphere, and the great music. However, this time, there were a lot of strict non-sensical rules added which were enforced rudely and dismissively by staff. Considering we paid nearly $700 per night, this was humiliating and unpleasant. We tried to make plans to spend time at the hotel with family and friends who live in New York and we were thwarted multiple times by new rules that made no sense. For example, we only learned when our family members showed up that no one is allowed to play pool after exactly 10pm any more at the hotel. This is rudely and strictly enforced by staff who say they just work there. Never had we experienced strange rules like this at this hotel, even when prices were half of what we paid on this trip. The same rule was imposed as to chess after 10pm, a game we used to enjoy playing at the hotel in the evenings. This too was rudely and strictly enforced by staff. One day during our trip, we brought friends for a drink at the hotel at about 10:30pm when it was advertised as open and were told by a rude young woman that the main atrium was closed. When we pointed out that it was full of people and that this is the part of the hotel that was advertised as always open to guests, she took on a sarcastic, mocking, and rude tone. She also said she only works there but that there was no one else we could talk to. The downstairs jazz club has also gone downhill significantly. The music while we were there was far inferior to music we used to hear there. On top of that, guests can no longer get into the jazz club. Instead guests have the same position as others with respect to having to reserve in advance, pay for minimum drink orders, and being refused admission. While in the past, we had a great time at this hotel dancing in the jazz club, no dancing was even permitted during our time there - it appeared that the hotel and cub filled the dance floor with tables in order to maximize profit. We also brought our friends and were told we were not allowed in. We also learned while there that the independent movie theater in the hotel is no longer free for guests of the hotel. It now costs $15 per person for guests and non guests. On top of all this, when we first checked into the hotel, a young woman charged us $3700 three times on two credit cards. The first time, she ran a card quickly while I informed her that I just got notice that my bank believes I have unusual activity while traveling. I confirmed the activity and my boyfriend gave her his card. She ultimately charged us $3700 three times. When I went up to her that evening to inform her of this, she rudely yelled at me and over me that the entire three charges are my fault and failed to make any effort to fix the problem, to apologize, or to show an ounce of concern or empathy, The manager present at the time was helpful and resolved the problem, but the extremely rude woman appears to still be working there. I had a relatively expensive jacket that was also ruined in the very tiny closet in our almost $700 per night room. The sleeves of the jacket got all scratched up with multiple very deep scratches in the faux leather. I am assuming this happened when cleaning staff came in - as I was not closing the door on the jacket sleeves myself. The closet was very cramped and the door looked like it could easily damage items hanging in it. In addition, as I was trying to sleep, a very large and loud air vent was blowing smoke right into my face several of the nights we were there. I barely slept. The air conditioning and fan in general were very loud. I would add that as we were checking out, we expressed our concerns to a woman who was at the front desk. She was polite and expressed empathy. She seemed as if she was going to help us and took my business contact card. However, we have been home for 4 days and have heard nothing from her. All in all, it appears that the hotel is maximizing profit in every respect, while showing very little regard to guests. We felt disrespected and embarrassed in front of family and friends we brought there. We are never staying at the Roxy again.

First let me start by saying that I was contacted by the hotel for feedback following my stay. I asked via email and voicemail to have the General Manager give me a call and waited before writing this review. I asked the Director of Guest Services for follow up and still have not been contacted. Check in-We had a great experience at check with the front desk. The agent was efficient and friendly. She followed up with a phone call to the room to see that everything was ok which we appreciated. Room-The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was a little small. Housekeeping-At check in we were told to call before noon if we wanted housekeeping. We did call and were told that they could only pick up trash and bring clean towels. I know this has changed since the pandemic and we were fine with this. Bar and food- We did not receive any welcome drink or champagne so after we settled in we went to the bar for a drink and something to eat. We were told that there was a private event and that they could not accommodate us. After some push back the hostess said we could sit down for one drink but must be done in 20 minutes. I understand private events are lucrative but there should always be some space for guests to relax and get a drink after a long journey. Before arriving I had called the front desk and asked to speak to a concierge about reservations. I was told that all of the reservations for the restaurant and jazz club were made via Resy and that I should book them myself. There was no priority for guests and no concierge service to help. I never saw a concierge in the lobby during my 3 day stay. We had a great time at the jazz club and the host was wonderful. We coordinated the experience on our own with no help from the hotel. Noise-We were a little worried about the noise in this hotel as the rooms open to the bar area. Our room was on a high floor it was not that bad and the music shut down around 10:30 pm. They have installed a white noise devise that sounds like a broken air conditioner which was worse than the actual noise. There is some city noise as rooms are facing busy streets but that did not bother us. What did disturb us were the guests next us. You could hear the other guests late at night. Definitely a party hotel. Amenities- The web site states Wi-Fi is free which is great. There is a 34.95 dollar a night room charge. Not sure this is justified. We had no champagne greeting, were not able to enjoy the bar due to a private event, no bathrobes, and no priority at any of the restaurants or clubs. When I completed the guest survey the response I got was if I wanted a bathrobe I should ask for one. Booking- I booked this hotel directly via the hotel website. That was a mistake. After the first night we looked to change hotels. The hotel had rates much cheaper than we were paying on most all of the third party websites. We decided to stick it out and not hassle with a hotel move so we could spend our time enjoying the city. Check out- we had a late flight and needed a late check out. Check out is noon. The hotel was not full and this really should not have been a problem. We were told we could get a 1 pm check out and anything later would be a 150$ charge. We really needed a 3 pm check out and there was no flexibility. I used my AMX for the reservation but was told that did not matter. A room charge for that night was under 400$ so a 150$ to stay until 3 pm was very excessive. I would not have been apposed to a smaller fee but this was ridiculous. Lastly, when on the way to the airport I received a customer service survey. I appreciated that and took the time to fill it out and give fair and honest feedback, both good and bad. What I received back was a justification for some poor policies. Customer satisfaction surveys should be used as a tool to improve the customers experience. Don’t send me a survey if you do not want my feedback. Overall I would say this is a three star hotel.

We go to NYC a couple times a year and decided to mix up our hotel selection this round. We could not have been happier with our choice to stay at The Roxy! The whole place is an experience from the welcome reception (free champagne), to the lounge area and bar, to the cinema and underground jazz club. Our room was super comfortable and everyone we interacted with was so accommodating and personable. We especially loved bartenders Mark and Babloo who treated us like royalty (the happy hour and $1 oysters helped too). Also loved hanging in the bar later when DJ Bailey was spinning funk and soul tunes. This hotel is also right in the mix of a ton of great neighborhoods (Tribeca, Soho, NoLita) so there's always something to do...we will 100% return to NYC just to stay at The Roxy again!

Good food, nice vibe, nice staff. Terribly old building which is not well maintained. EXTREMELY LOUD and not a hotel for sleep. Great for nightlife and entertainment however you can visit for that. Cannot recommend even thought that staff was lovely and tried to help at every issue.

Just had another great stay at the Roxy, one of my favorite hotels in NYC! Have stated here dozens of times, and every time a great experience. Great rooms, cool/fun atmosphere, welcoming environment and great staff! A special shout to to Olivia at the front desk and the one and only Donald at the door, who create a very cool and welcoming environment every time. Look forward to visiting my home away from home again very soon!
