What a lovely place. Calm and tranquil in the midst of madness. Rooms numbers are based on the Dewey system. The evening cheese and wine( which is free) is excellent. The staff are all friendly and helpful. A wonderful place to stay.

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The Library is my favourite hotel in the city. And it's easy to understand why: the location is great (Madison Avenue, near the Grand Central Station and Bryant Park), the staff is nice and helpful and the atmosphere makes you feel cozy and at home (and that's not easy to find in the middle of Manhattan). Beside this, the rooms...

I recently returned home from a second stay at this wonderful hotel. My husband and I were celebrating a milestone anniversary, and this hotel feels so special that I couldn't resist returning. Upon our arrival, we were presented with a bottle of prosecco and a card for our anniversary. The daily complimentary breakfast and coffee is delicious, as is the...

Hotel Elysee was booked up so they recommended their sister hotel The Library The front desk personnel were very honest and accommodating when it came to restaurant recommendations. We ended up at the China Café on 37th St. which was one of the best meals we've ever had in Manhattan We've paid much more for far less in Manhattan restaurants...

If you are a book lover, you'll instantly feel at home here, surrounded by books and welcomed by a friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are small but cozy. Also, there is a reading room on the 2nd floor, a good restaurant next door and a fun bar and rooftop deck.

I recently stayed at the Library Hotel for 5 nights. My room, Petite, was delightful, quiet and comfortable. This beautiful hotel is in a perfect location within walking distance to many NYC highlights and the subway. The staff adds to the hotel being so accommodating, friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast is a perfect way to start your day, tea,...

We have stayed in this hotel twice and it was a great experience on both occasions. Yes the rooms are small but they are well appointed and arranged neatly. Each floor has a different subject area. Great cheese and wine in the evening and friendly helpful staff. The breakfast is very good although too many carbohydrate choices for me. Centrally...

From the moment we arrived to the time we had to say goodbye, the Librarians looked after us so well. My wife and I had not been to New York before, and by chance chose this hotel, and could not have been happier. Nothing was too much trouble, and when my wife's mobile was not functioning properly, she had three...

I had a fabulous stay and will be back (July 13-16). The staff is amazing - Duke you are the best. I can say that all aspects of my experience were great save one (see below). I loved the 14th floor writing room and the reading room on 2nd floor. The rooms were very European which I love. And again...

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
