This was our first time in New York and part of the reason we loved the city so much was due to staying at this hotel. We loved the theming and decor of the hotel and its handy location. We either walked everywhere or used the nearby subway line at Grand Central Station. The staff at the hotel were very...

We had a terrific stay at The Library. We took a train in and walked right over to The Library. Check in was wonderful, the front desk clerk was friendly and every employee we encountered was kind and outgoing. The only exception being the staff at the roof top bar. They weren't as friendly. We went one night for a...

We have just returned from two weeks in New York. We stayed in three different locations, saving the Library until the end of our stay. We saved the best till last. Everything was wonderful. Next time we will stay here for all of our trip.

I stayed here last night for the first time, but not the last! I was in a petite room, which was small, as advertised, but not uncomfortably so—perfect for a single traveler. It had all one could ask for in terms of being pristine and well-appointed (quality linens and toiletries). Beyond that, the staff really distinguished themselves (as did the...

I stayed at the Library based on a recommendation of a friend of mine. I have to say that this was almost the perfect place to stay NYC. Each of the rooms are based on a theme, and i got a Medicine themed room. The rooms were small but cozy. The breakfast was in the 2nd floor and they serve...

This is our first choice in NYC. Prices vary significantly but we're flexible and look for an affordable time to go. Many out of towners have the mistaken belief that New Yorkers are cool and brusk but we have encountered very few. The staff here is unfailingly polite and helpful and the rooms, though small, are clean and comfy. Not...

The room was beautiful with lots and lots of books to read. I enjoyed the freedom of the second floor. Each day got up and enjoyed breakfast there as well as an evening of drinks and snacks. The staff were very helpful and willing to help everyone who came through the door. On the last day they gave as free...

I live in Brooklyn but love to spend an occasional weekend at the Library Hotel and be the tourist. Breakfast and afternoon wine and cheese in the Reading Room are a delight. Coffee, tea, cookies, books and comfort are available anytime. The Library Hotel is a little gem in a perfect location.

The only slight disappointment was that the TV in the rooftop bar didn't work at midnight NYE ! Everything else was very good - the wine & cheese on floor 2 was very well accepted - the girls serving both breakfast & wine/cheese were extremely well mannered - would certainly stay again.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
