Recently I stayed in The Westin New York at Times Square, that is now operated by Marriott Bonvoy. The 45 story hotel is modern, the premium category rooms are spacious and well appointed, and all the facilities (including a coffee/tea maker) functioned properly. Bottled water was submitted daily. For a one time payment of $20.00, a small fridge was installed in a large corridor part of the room. The room was on the 40th floor, with some spectacular views of the stunning Manhattan skyscrapers, iconic sites and buildings, busy streets and lively avenues. The TV screen in the room showed personal greetings every morning, day and evening. The 7 story atrium with a spacious lobby and large reception area, as well as stylish seating areas created contemporary ambiance and great comfort for visitors. Multiple high-speed elevators functioned flawlessly. One of the excellent features in The Westin was the breakfast arrangement, with the usage of a $30.00 daily credit from the fee of the same amount, included in the hotel reservation. Breakfast was of the buffet type, with a variety of fresh colds cuts, fruits, smoothies, juices, coffee (served at the table), and hot meals. The pastry section was marvelous, offering abundance of small, delicious swirls, danish, muffins, cakes, etc. I would even rate the breakfast buffet as A+. The hotel aimes at providing a high-quality service -- Reception Staff Mary Jane, Kenneth, and Janet (I think that was the name of a young lady) were very hospitable, attentive and helpful; the Cleaning Service by Maria was done expeditiously and properly every day; the team of Bell Services was well organized, welcoming and responsive -- Eddie and all their staff were always very amiable and helpful. My special thanks to Concierge John -- a true gentleman, a high-skilled professional, very knowledgeable in the area of customer service and city expertise, helping travelers to visit, experience and enjoy the best in the gorgeous New York City! The hotel is located in the central part of Midtown Manhattan, very close to Times Square, Broadway and all the top Broadway theatres, museums, shops and restaurants. I enjoyed my stay in The Westin New York at Times Square very much -- and I definitely plan to be back again. Thank You All!…
We stayed here in Aug for 6 nights. We were on the 35th floor with a fantastic view of the Empire State Building and also towards Times Square. The view sums up New York! The desk staff, concierge, restaurant and door staff were all great and very helpful. The room was a good size with a nice shower/bath. There was a mini bar in the room but it was empty which was fine. There was a coffee machine, iron and board, big TV and a safe. The room was cleaned everyday and couldn't fault the cleanliness in anyway. We stayed there with a Virgin Holiday and with the resort fee, we made use of the attraction tickets and $30 per day credit. I would recommend this hotel as its near the Subway, close but far enough away from Times Square to see New York.
Location is excellent, close to Times Square but didnt hear any street noise etc - so nice and quiet. Tons of food choices nearby, I love the European Bakery that is just outside the front door. Room was nice sized, great bed, fast wifi. Room safe but no fridge. Fast check in, large lobby. They do charge a $30 fee on top of room rate and you can get that back if you eat in the hotel. Restaurant open for breakfast and dinner but not lunch.
We stayed here for 6 nights. Booked in a package with Virgin. After a long day travelling and negotiating with a yellow cab driver we finally arrived late afternoon. Our room wasn't available so the hotel kindly gave us some credit to go to the bar for a drink. After a short while we went back to the check in desk as we were just desperate to get rid of cases etc.. Our room on arrival was lovely, it was a corner room 33 floors up! We had all round views of different parts of the city. The room was well equipped and cleaned to a high standard. Beds were comfy... my only issue was I am asthmatic and attempted on 3 occasions for different pillows as they are all down filled, requested foam but sadly ended up with 5 down filled pillows. In the end I just needed sleep and with use of my own pillowcase and towel all was okay! We only had a couple of days of having the bed made etc as some days we would go back for an hours rest. On returning one day our room door was off the latch after the room was cleaned. Things like this happen and luckily everything was okay! The Foundry bar was lovely all the staff extremely welcoming and always friendly. In our package we had a daily package of $20 dollars each so we used most nights for a wind down drink or two... (highly reccomend the blood orange margarita) We never ate at the bar but the food we saw did look really nice. The hotel is so close to times square and plenty of food options available close by for breakfast or daily meals and snacks. In all a really lovely hotel, very clean and surprisingly quiet away from the lobby area. …
This hotel tucked just a stone’s throw from Times Square feels surprisingly secluded from the chaos of the surrounding area. The dining options are good, and easy to access but I have found the staff exceptional. In fact, Mickayla should be crowned the Queen of Hospitality! Available, helpful and reliable she is the kind of person you want to meet when traveling. Every staff member from housekeeping to front desk was exceptional. I can’t wait to return. You may find a better spot but doubt it in the Times Square area.
Had a great 3 night stay. Asked for a room up top and got the 38th floor. Lifts super quick. Room fine, staff helpful and the property is run well. We flew down to Florida and my wife realised she had left valuables in the room. Security, I think Alan and Robert were very helpful over the phone and had item sent down to us by fed ex. So Thankyou guys for that.
Had to pay $150 a day in case of damages of the room even though I spent £3,000 on the holiday. Been trying to get a refund as they told me it would be 2-3 days after check out. It’s been 4 weeks. I think it’s absolutely disgusting. Lack of communication and was told several different things by different people working at the hotel. The bank is refusing to pay me my money bank as the hotel has taken their transactions of my online banking. DO NOT stay at this hotel if you want to waste $150 a day!
This is my second time staying at this property in the past 18 months. My go to hotel around the Times Square area. 36 hours transit in NYC! Room upgraded to a spacious room (Higher floor with spectacular views of NYC) Breakfast was amazing
The good: I’ll start with saying the staff were great . 5 stars to Jorge who was a bellman / baggage handler . Thank you - I know you are likely short staffed and your staff all had a smile or at least showing one! Awesome The bad : I haven’t stayed at this particular Westin in 7 years and I don’t think one thing has been changed or updated . Room 1 : upgrade queen x2 suite looked like it had a bad experience with Taco Bell sauce . This is sad, what a waste of sauce ! Also dirty in general. Room two was two full beds for the same price as what I paid $$$ more for queens . The front desk didn’t mention the bed size change when they changed my room. Not working for 2 adults 2 kids - let alone I paid more - chose this for a reason. Upgraded by another member of staff (thank you) to a Junior suite due to no other queen rooms available - while this was nice - it was still a struggle . The room showed heavy wear . The pillows were chunky in a bad way - sheets hard and starchy and not really clean - the bed is so old that the edges were higher than the center - what happened to the dream bed advertising ? I book Westin because of this and 2 prior back surgeries bad beds are the worst ! - the painting in the room would have been nicer if it didn’t have a sheen of spray on it - don't think this was Taco Bell this time .. we are elite Marriott members, own a timeshare and have traveled a lot of Westin Marriott’s etc - this was such a disappointment - Absolutely will not be back to this Westin - but heeeey to your staff. Great job mate …
Clean rooms. Good location for Theatre District and Times Square. Rooms are dark; need better lighting. The lack of lighting was the biggest negative. The Foundry Bar has great wait staff. The Foundry was a quite busy venue but the staff were very accommodating.
