We are local to NYC, but got tickets for "The Magician" show for late Friday night, so decided to book a room and stay for the night - so glad we did! This hotel is absolutely gorgeous - the decor is rich & dark (low lighting throughout, but every room has dimmers so you can brighten everything if you need...

Just finished my third stay at the NoMad for three nights. I stayed in the same atelier room on the 12th floor. I can't explain what combination of staffing and design makes this hotel feel so relaxing and comforting. It's more like being in a French apartment building than a hotel. But I feel unusually well taken care of there....

Stayed at hotel night of 3/28/17. The hotel itself is very cool and hip looking. The room was small but nice and ok for a business traveler. The problem is that the room was right next to freight elevator so I was up constantly due to noise. I am not a light sleeper so it was bad. In the morning...

This is how I always imagined the real Newyorkers to live a few decades ago. So much style, such a unique taste on any details. The perfect honeymoon suite. The stuff - lovely people who were caring, so motivated to make us feel right at home. Just better than that. Thank you

The whole roasted chicken and the foie gras were just delicious. Just forget about the calories and savor every bite. Good ambience, the service was excellent, very good sommelier. The dining room was chic, surprisingly large, yet intimate. Most importantly, the hostess seated us, a group of 4, immediately on a Friday night even though we didn't have a reservation.

What an elegant and friendly hotel to stay in! Everyone was very helpful from the valet to the front desk. The room was extremely comfortable, quiet and plush on the third floor. We went to the Dan White magic show in the hotel and it was very entertaining. The library bar is a wonderfully relaxing and beautiful bar and much...

I travel to NYC several times a year for work and this is now my preferred hotel. Friendly and warm check in, beautiful rooms that are hip and don't feel like a typically hotel room, great sheets, great towels, great shower. Delicious breakfast. I didn't like their coffee but that's my only gripe. Love this place.

I was impressed with the European New York sophisticated decor, and the very friendly staff. The phone service in hotel was not so friendly but the bellmen, servers and desk reception very helpful and hospitable. My room was a little nuts, The Atelier on the second floor with the claw foot tub was literally in the window on the street...

My wife and I stayed at the Nomad in NYC on a Saturday night for my birthday. When we checked-in, we were delighted to learn that we had been upgraded - without asking - to a larger room. I happened to mention that it was my birthday and that the upgrade was appreciated. Once in the room, a staff member...

Our recent stay at the Nomad Hotel was excellent in all respects...Our room was elegantly appointed, quiet and with lots of light. The room service was professional and considerate. The restaurant in the hotel is plush and beautiful, and the food is quite good, especially the Chicken...which the term "to die for" was no doubt created to describe!

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The NoMad Hotel is housed in a turn of the century Beaux-Arts building that has been fully restored to its original grandeur with interiors by French designer Jacques Garcia. The hotel is intended as a fresh take on the classic grand hotels of Europe with a distinct New York sensibility. The design of the hotel was inspired by the Parisian flat of Garcia’s youth. The 168 rooms are residential in feel and decorated in his classic, timeless style. Each room is appointed with hand-selected, richly textured custom-designed furnishings and original artwork. The soaring ceilings throughout the public spaces provide a fine gathering place to enjoy dining, drinking and socializing. ... more   less
