We had a great five days staying here. we loved the large room, and outdoor deck (the main reason we booked). A bonus was the great location in walking distance to Central Park, bus, rail and good restaurants. Not a traditional 'B&B' though, so don't expect breakfast.

We stayed at the Madeline suite, which can accommodate up to 4 people, the room was everything we expected and more, it´s equipped with coffee maker, mini-fridge, complete set of silverware and everything else you may need while travelling. Beautiful room with high ceilings and chic furniture, windows face the street. From this B&B you can walk to central park,... More

Our family stayed in the larger room on the third floor. Very quaint. For those with difficulty climbing stairs, I would recommend a second floor room. Very convenient to Central Park, the subway, restaurants and a very good wine store.

This inn is located in the land of the nannies and dog walkers, an excellent neighborhood! It was within walking distance to the Museum Mile and Central Park. There are many nearby restaurants and shops if you want to do some upper east side shopping. If you are looking for the tourist hot spots (which we were), there are subway... More

This charming apartment is in New York's upper east side, between Madison and Fifth Avenues, immediately across from the Jacqueline Onassis reservoir within Central Park. It is within a safe, quiet residential neighborhood with several small restaurants, grocery stores and within an easy walk to the subway on Lexington and 96th. It is well within walking distance to Museum Mile,... More

This was perfect for my trip because I was visiting with friends in the neighborhood. This brownstone has some old charm and there are plenty of places to get breakfast in the area as well as everything else. Despite the Riddex machine plugged into the living room, I made the acquaintance of a centipede strolling across my bedroom wall. He... More

Perhaps if you wish to complain about the room needing a paint touch up, you shouldn't complain when there is minor renovation going on. More

Stay the Night was very clean with comfortable beds. We were on the third floor and there is no elevator. There was a small refrigerator and microwave in the room. We were there during two days of rain and the second afternoon when we returned to our room, the ceiling in the bathroom was leaking and the sink, commode and... More

It sprung a leak during a three day rainstorm. I wasn't in the building at the time, but I was able to direct the guest to use the provided bucket to catch the leak; which is all that I would have been able to do had I been there. I was the one who cleaned it up later, not an... More

My friend and I just got back from a 4 night stay here and it was lovely! Our trip to the city was just for writing research, so we were trying to spend as little as possible. My wife and I enjoyed our short stay at this location. Conveniently located, and wonderfully priced. We stayed in the Cecilia room, which was plenty spacious. We loved how "homely" it felt, as opposed to the hotel feel. Our only complaint/drawback that prevents a five star rating was the uncomfortable mattress. I'm not sure how the other rooms were, but... Staying in Upper East Side

Neighbourhood Profile
Upper East Side
Combining quiet residential neighbourhoods that have easy access to Central Park with world-famous cultural institutions, the Upper East Side is one of the most livable places in the city. Along beautiful Fifth Avenue, you’ll find Museum Mile, which houses many of the nation's most famous attractions in a single stretch, like The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum. Walk a few blocks into the neighbourhood, and you’ll come to Park Avenue, the poshest address in the city, lined with grand apartment buildings as far as the eye can see. Even if you can’t afford the luxury goods along Madison Avenue, it’s still a great spot to window shop an afternoon away.

“We were there in the winter. Heat in the suite comes from always-on old fashioned steam radiators. You titrate the heat in the suite by opening and closing the old windows, and by varying the opening of a skylight in the kitchen area with a long aluminum pole. I got pretty good at it after a few days!”
