I won this on Hotwire & was kind of skeptical based on the name & some of the reviews. I was treated VERY nicely by every staff member (being nice to people and not demanding/huffy always helps.) What a concept, eh? The room was small, but I was hardly in it. I had a queen bed, flat screen TV, storage... More

Hello TZMOM I am glad we won you over with kindness! I hear the work skeptical a lot from a lot of our guest, and we always surprise them all. We understand our hotel may be small, but we are big on providing a FUN experience. I hope to see you again really soon. Cheers Timothy Lau Front Office Manager... More

I stayed here for two nights on a quick business trip to NYC and loved this hotel! Only about one mile from Times Square, and close to all types of restaurants, the location is really great! I traveled from Newark, and the Newark Express bus is a short 5 minute walk from hotel. I requested a room with a queen... More

I stayed in the Pod39 hotel for four nights. The location is fine, close enough to the metro station and next to some of the main attractions. Service is very basic, the staff is not very friendly and not always helpful. My room was very tiny (it's New-York indeed) and I had a view on a wall although I had... More

Hello X'avier L Thank you for choosing our hotel the last time you had your visit to New York. It seems that your stay was not what you had expected. Yes, our rooms are smaller than the average hotel. That is our concept and we understand that our rooms may not be for everyone. Perhaps a Queen pod the next... More

After an initial cold encounter with the first lady at reception who bluntly told us check in wasn't till 3pm, even though we were fully aware of that and were just checking if anything was available and if we could store our bags. At this stage I was skeptical of the staff. Thank god for the second gentlemen who checked... More

Loved my little pod at Pod39. Bed was really comfortable, shower was great and the room had everything I needed. There's no excess space but I liked that as I found it very cosy. Check in and check out was easy, and the check out time was 12 so no rush. In terms of the location it's further downtown than... More

It was 35c outside, aircon was great, can also open window. Rooms are modern, only stayed one night. It would be snug for a long stay, double bed takes up 3/4 of the room. (Not exaggeration, it literally does). Couldn't charge my phone with travel adaptor - access to the plug hole was hampered by desk secured to wall. Had... More

I love the idea of tiny living, but with a family of five I can't do it. So finding Pod 39 was a win-win on my trip down the east coast. I wanted to spend a day in Manhattan exploring, but hotels are crazy expensive. Pod 39 was a good budget option, and it put me right in the middle... More

Stayed in a full pod for four nights at the start of November and would definitely stay again. Location is great for Central Park, Grand Central (so good for the subway), Times Square and a bunch of others if you're not afraid of a walk. Room itself was small but economical - decent double bed, space under for storage, safe... More

Pod 39 is well placed In the middle of NYC, near a subway station which is two connections away from JFK. Rooms are very small, but with the vibrancy of NYC, you will just need your room to sleep. Service is good and property is clean and well serviced. I would recommend to anyone seeking affordable accommodation in the city.

The location is good but not excellent. The room is very tiny and the bathroom its kind of awkward if you need privacy even if its your couple the one in the room. Wifi is free and the hotel is always full of people at the bar.

Staying in Midtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Midtown
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
