I stayed here for 5 nights at the start of November. After reading previous reviews I was a little bit worried but we didn’t need to be! The reception is small but the staff are very friendly and check in was quick. Unlike other hotels in New York there are no extra fees to pay when you arrive or deposits. We were on the 14th floor with a great view of the city. The rooms were spacious and came equipped with a hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, and plenty of storage. There is no daily cleaning service for the room but you are able to ask reception the day before if you wish for your room to be cleaned, or for fresh towels. The hotel also has a roof bar that does not require a reservation. The location was great, it is opposite Macy’s, and only a short walk of about ten minutes to Times Square, Empire State etc. There is a subway station outside the hotel which is handy and the larger penn station for airport travel is only a ten minute walk.

DON’T STAY HERE. No one came to clean the room, the shower was like warm instead of hot, and the manager was unresponsive about the cable being out. The location is ok if you want to be in a touristy area, but there are much better, affordable options.

It is well worth the money. Right at the 34th and herald station. Very well located, clean and organized. Excellent decision if you are looking for a room just to sleep. A really good deal. First time in NY and love the experience. Recommended

I booked with this hotel months in advance. When I was about to board my plane to New York, I was emailed informing me the booking was cancelled. It has been over a month now, and I cannot get in touch with anyone, and I have not received a refund. Save yourself the stress, the headache, and the money. This hotel is a scam

I traveled alone and stayed at this hotel for safety and great location. The metro is right under the hotel. The room on the 14th floor with a magnificent view is priceless, the staff with Samantha and the guys is always available. The rooms with tv and coffee maker and iron are very large, the bed is fabulous and everything is clean! On the 4th floor there is the gym and a terrace to relax and work. I will definitely be back on my next trip!

My family and I stayed here for 9 days. Throughout our stay, the feature of the hotel that really stood out to me the most was its location. We were able to walk to several attractions such as the Empire State Building (-5 minutes away), Times Square (~10 minutes away) and Macy's (~3 minutes away). There were also lots of restaurants (American, Mexican, Korean) and many shoping outlets (H&M, Foot Locker, Target, Forever 21) nearby so you can always do last minute shopping if you still have space in your luggage. The nearest subway exit is also right outside the entrance, so the hotel is very accessible. The hotel lifts are sometimes shared for the customers for Monarch Garden Rooftop, but despite that the lifts service really quickly. Although the hotel itself was relatively new and did not have much services and facilities for now (e.g. complimentary breakfast, in-hotel laundry, service telephone), the staff did an amazing job with their service to make up for it. They were very accomodating and answered our queries well. Overall, I thought that the cost of our stay here was a little on the pricey side, but it is still New York city and it is still one of the cheapest accomodations you can purchase for your stay. Thank you for accomodating us!

Perfect location! With a rooftop bar next door (from the lobby) with gorgeous view at night of the Empire State building, excellent restaurant 100 yards away (Mew) and so much more. This hotel was perfect. Staff was welcoming and 24/7 reception and security was also a plus :) Thanks for having us!

We stayed 9 nights at The Herald powered by LuxUrban in Sept’22 (travelling from Europe). Its a great located hotel. We found this plance really good. Room was large for the money, comparing to other hotels at this price in Manhattan. Bathroom really nice with hot water all day long. WiFi also good and free of charge. We stayed on 14th floor with super good view of the Macy’s store and 7th avenue. The staff is always helpfull. Desk open 24h. Room was equipped with fridge, microwave and iron. Cable TV not wirking but was an issue for us. Bed was comfortable. Any time we asked at the desk the staff was always helpfull. Highy recommended place.

I highly recommend the hotel. I stayed for a week in a room on the 14th floor with a great view. Room is large, well equipped (safe, microwave, iron, ironing board). Bed large, very comfortable. Bathroom clean, hot water available at all times. Hotel clean and well maintained. Housekeeping staff courteous, and Jose, Jon and rest of front desk staff always willing to help. Location super, very close to the subway station. The biggest attractions within easy reach.
