Discovering this gem in the middle of Chelsea was a wonderful thrill for this New Yorker. This was a surprise romantic getaway weekend and this sweet boutique hotel was perfect in every way. This historic setting and charming unique and super comfortable interiors are alone worth the trip. And to be able to bring out family pup without issue was... More

This Chelsea hotel was once a seminary for training Episcopal priests. In converting the building to a hotel, the designers have saved quaint antique features and added whimsical period decorations. Our bedroom, bathroom and closets were spacious. The lobby and bar are quite small and most of the seats are usually occupied. There is no restaurant; other eateries are available... More

This is a very fun place to stay if you are young or young at heart like my husband and me. I think we were the only people over 50 staying there. The place has a hip eclectic style. The lobby is always lively as they make great coffee. Cozy bar at night too. The young staff couldn't have been... More

We were here for 3 nights to see the Adele concert at MSG and were disappointed with the upgraded room and the so-called room service. We were on the second floor above the coffee bar. The closet was tiny, lighting was dismal, bathroom had no place at the sink to store toiletries except precariously balancing along on the edge. Housekeeping... More

Great location to hop on highline park and it has a beautiful courtyard. We got a free "upgrade" to the second floor. The room may have been bigger but the second floor has a small hallway and the when the coffee bar sets up at pre dawn hours it makes a hell of a racket. Don't stay on the second... More

Thank you for sharing your experience with us and do profusely apologize for our doorman eagerness in securing a car, without offering all potential pricing options to you. Also I am very concern that no one have gotten back you in regards to your wife jewelry, and would really like to personally do so to make sure everything is resolved.... More

We picked this hotel because of the historic character and it didn't disappoint. The room had many interesting features and was furnished with beautiful antiques. The bathroom is huge. However the bed was lumpy with a very uncomfortable mattress. And the toilet ran the entire week we were there no one came to fix it. Housekeeping was erratic sometimes there... More

We always love staying at the High Line. It is a very clean and quaint hotel and we love the décor. Since our family is in Chelsea, it is also a perfect location. The staff is always friendly and ready to please.

This is my number one preferred hotel in NYC. The location is great, I can jump on the Highline to get in some exercise and get to many locations easily, and it has unbeatable charm and charisma. There is a fabulous coffee shop on the first floor, /'d during good weather you can't beat the patio.

This is a story with a happy ending. Last year, we stayed at the High Line and were tremendously impressed by the High Line's style and by its terrific staff. But, to be honest, we had a problem with noise from the coffee bar. Well, we brought it to management, and they could not have been more responsive or more... More

Perfect, quiet location (although within short walking distance to several sights, restaurants, bars and other attractions...) Spacious and comfortable rooms, great lobby ambience, cool bicycles that guests can use foc. Will definately stay here next time I'm in NYC!

Staying in Chelsea

Neighbourhood Profile
Chelsea
Home to hundreds of art galleries, beautiful brownstones, and one of New York’s newest and most popular attractions, Chelsea is one of the city’s jewels when it comes to neighbourhood life. The contemporary art scene is an integral part of the neighbourhood’s identity, with gallery openings almost every night of the week and countless exhibits to explore. As a longtime hub of gay culture in New York City, it’s also a diverse district with a vibrant nightlife scene. The opening of the High Line, an abandoned elevated train track transformed into a world-class pedestrian park, gave this neighbourhood new life as a tourist destination. The High Line provides visitors with a tranquil, elevated space with incomparable views, providing an unparalleled way to experience the city.

“Be forewarned that Wed. middle-of-the-night city garbage truck activity outside can be noisy (not the hotel's fault).”

“We were in a room on the first floor that shared a wall with the lobby. I was initially put off by the notice I could hear from the busy lobby coffee bar that changes to wine bar at night. However, all that closed down at 11pm and it was perfectly quiet overnight. Couldn't hear the street either as it was in the garden side. Recommend #16 if you can't get upper level that doesn't face 10th Ave. ”
